Also available on Bass version GEB-7. The Pro mod is designed to improve clarity and lower the noise issues that the stock GE-7's have. This is accomplished by upgrading the chips and tone capacitors. We replace the cheap stock tone capacitors with high quality film capacitors like we use in the rest of our effects. This improves the overall clarity of the pedal. VOLTAGE: The stock GE-7 can not be run over 15V. We modify it so it will run fine on 18V, which will give even more clarity and headroom to the pedal. The stock GE-7 can add some noise if you move Even bringing the two lowest sliders DOWN will add noise, try it. Our mod replaces three chips with the King of Tone chip, which is a low noise These chips take about 40 more power (pedal goes from 16mA to 23mA), so a battery will not last as long, better to use a power supply. A normal alkaline battery will still last over 15 hours, so you can use batteries if you want. We also Thanks to the people on the We used their ideas We can modify New for 2012, GEB-7 Bass version mods. We can now offer the mods on the GEB-7 Bass version. Same price, same improved tone and lower noise.

It’s 100 silent and has great headroom while using 18V. Works great for the DG stuff, after a Tube Driver or Cornish pedals. Thanks Mike. Was this review helpful to you? It is easy to dial in. Also very quiet and totally invisible when not engaged. No tone suck at all. Was this review helpful to you? The only way I can describe the difference is Analogman nailed it with this mod. I ordered the modded version after struggling with this pedal for over a year. The Analogman mod unlocks the potential of this pedal. If you don't have this pedal on your board, you should. Different rooms and different studios will make your guitar, your amp, your pedals, even your entire signal path sound differently. The GE-7 - with the Analogman mod - allows you tweak your sound to the room or studio's acoustics and truly shine. Worth every penny and then some. Nice work, Analogman. I'm very grateful for what you've brought to my sound. Was this review helpful to you? Money well spent. Was this review helpful to you? Deterioration of the output level below 0 cut the brilliance and the high frequencies. Crackle on the 1st to 5th fret of E and A string and on the entire G string. The pedal is extremely 'quiet' and the positive result is amazing. A satisfying pedal was turned into a very good and professional pedal. Vuelva a intentarlo en otro momento. I think a lot of the people reviewing this online, and especially on YouTube, are a little confused as to how it should be applied. A common complaint seems to be that this pedal adds noise to your signal. The more effective way to use this pedal is to CUT the frequencies that you don't want, and then use the level slider to compensate if you feel like that leaves a noticeable drop in overall volume. If you have a humbucker that is too muddy, cut some of the low frequencies. If you have a single coil that is too harsh, roll off the 3.2k and a little of the 6.4k. If you want either type of pickup to sound a bit punchier, you can add in a little mid range, but be judicious about it. Suddenly you'll find that you are finally hearing that sound you had in your head all along. This pedal might not have the curb appeal that some of the boutique special effects pedals do, but it can play a critical role in your signal chain once you learn how to dial in the right sounds. This has led many British amp manufacturers to include specialized tone shaping buttons on the control panel because they are well aware that British EQ isn't as dramatic as American guitarists want it to be. There is nothing wrong with this by any means - it's just an overall characteristic of British amplifiers.

Secondly, any tube amp loves to be pushed with boost and dirt pedals to get extra crispy overdrive from the clean channel - since distortion channels on tube amps have a tendency to compress and limit the output slightly. Applying EQ to your signal chain will allow you to clean up your tone by cutting some unnecessary low-end from the picture and boosting your high-end for better clarity. RECORDING DIRECT-IN: If you're using this pedal with a DI box or simply plugging directly into your audio interface for virtual reamping, you'll be able to get a more balanced signal if you want to darken your Strat or brighten your Les Paul. WHY 4 STARS? Yes, the noise. It's not bothersome by any means, but if you're recording with a mic'd amp or direct in, you will absolutely need a noise suppressor. I use my GE-7 with the BOSS NS-2, and the NS-2 completely removes the white noise generated from the GE-7. The result is an amazing, clean boosting EQ.You won't regret it. It's not just for Tone Snobs, it can really make cheap gear sound way better, and take great gear to the next level. Thanks to a genius suggestion by the gents on That Pedal Show on YouTube, I tried out the EQ pedal and was able to make the Les Paul neck pickup incredibly Strat-like.Tames my Marshall Plexi for bedroom levels beautifully. Sets the tone sweetly on the Fender twin for any room or hall I'm playing in. Compliments, makes better, my other pedals, like the BKButler tube driver or the Ibanez tube screamer. I wish I hadn't taken so long to buy one.It can also be paired with an overdrive pedal to enhance it or even as a simple booster with eq. I use it with a power cable because it will drain a battery in a matter of hours though.I tried some cheaper equalizers and only experience frustration. Bought this one as my go-to EQ. Use it with a number of guitars that I play through the Church's PA system.Awsome boost and eq. Going to buy another one emedietely. This unit allows for great sweeping of frequencies.

When inactive this unit is transparent, no tone suckage. When this unit is engaged, each frequency band carves the sounds nicely however, consideration to have this unit modified to reduce its noisy output has begun for me at least. I am thankful for the internet and the opportunities it presents for me to MOD this Pedal.I wanted more bass depth than provided on my JC40 and Fender Acoustic amps and this pedal provides that. I think (and I could be wrong of course) that the on board EQ on amps provides bass more by treble-cut than true bass enhancement. The sliders are very sensitive so a relatively large change in tone comes from a small movement of the sliders. This takes a little time to master. I have mine set on a shallow scooped arrangement which suits my home environment. I haven't tried it in a hall yet.Gracias por su comentario. Lo sentimos, no hemos podido registrar tu voto. Vuelva a intentarlo You may think a simple little equaliser it's a bit unglamorous, but believe me, the quality of sound you get from this little beauty is simply sumptuous. So much depth of tone at the low end and beautiful crisp clear highs. Db Sound Boost a handy little extra for adding some extra volume notches for eg solos, if so desired. One thing worries me, with the 9v mains adaptor some slight oscillating background hiss comes in, but not with the battery. Any ideas why.? Boss are the best pedals for my money anyway.Gracias por su comentario. Lo sentimos, no hemos podido registrar tu voto. Vuelva a intentarlo After some deep thinking I bought a BOSS GE-7 7-Band EQ Pedal and my only regret is I wish I had bought one sooner. I can now achieve any range of tone I wish even making my Ukulele sound exactly the same as it does unplugged. The 73quid I paid was worth every penny I can now achieve a warm unplugged Hawaiian sound plugged in. Tip: Get a 9v adaptor for constant use batteries are only good for a couple of hours.Gracias por su comentario.

Lo sentimos, no hemos podido registrar tu voto. Vuelva a intentarlo This will give you a precise equaliser over 7 bands and also works as a fairly useful boost, you can use this pedal to take your guitar from piercing bright sounds to deep accurate bass. If you're considering this pedal you should probably take the plunge I use it every session which when compared to my wah wah is used for a very short time.Gracias por su comentario. I chose this equalizer after reading opinions on forums. I was looking for a affordable, simple yet effective equalizer, with a good build quality. The GE-7 proved really effective at the task. Basically I use it only to make my tone sit nicely in the mix on rehearsals or gigs. I don't use it at home, because what I'm trying to do is to sound as good as home in a band context. I don't use it to create special sounds or to make my amp sound like another one, though it can certainly do that. I would strongly recommend this unit to any guitarist playing in a band, especially if there are other midrange focused instruments. What works for me is: cut off 100HZ, slightly cut 200HZ, slightly boost 400HZ, slightly cut 800HZ, slightly boost 1KHZ, 3.

2KHZ at unity or slightly below, 6,4HZ is basically the presence, so I adjust it depending on the amp and the context. Building quality is what you expect from Boss. Worth mentionning I didn't notice any coloration from the buffered bypass when the pedal is off. Send report Total sound quality features handling an absolute must-have NEJC, 07.02.2016 Not many guitarists realize how significant an eq can be. But once you start using one, it al becomes clear. I bought mine to use with my fender telecaster standard usa. I felt the guitar needed some more low end and high tones trimming. And when this pedal came in it did exactly that with top grades. There really isn't much to it, you just plug it in, set the equalizer to a desired level and that's it. I like that it's simple. What i dont like is that these meters are extremely sensitive. You need to move the knob for like a smallest amount possible and the result is already very noticeable, so in some cases its quiet difficult to find and then keep this setting, especially if you use it for live shows. Just a touch of some cables on top of an eq can change its character drastically, so i advise some caution and second check after transporting it. Other than that, this pedal works superbly, and i cant play without it. Send report Total sound quality features handling Great Pedal Universally Used KMickP, 25.03.2020 Many boards have this pedal and there is a reason for that, it’s compact, sounds great and can be used as a boost to push valve amps to their sweet spot as well as shaping the tone. I am a guitar player and I had one of these 20 years ago when I was gigging in lots of different rooms so this pedal is great for adjusting your tone depending on the acoustics of the gig. Also great for solo boosts and pushing the frequencies to get you heard without deafening your band members. A must have in my view and it’s great value.

Send report Total sound quality features handling Boss GE-7 is an essential part of any guitar players pedal board HenryJay, 28.09.2014 Many guitar players may not realize that a graphic equalizer is an absolute must. The guitars, preamps, speakers, cabinets and effects all distort the tone of your sound in their own way. GE-7 helps you with your final touches. With a few tweaks you can make your sound stand out just right. Just bear in mind that you get the best result by weakening the unwanted frequencies - not the other way around. In other words do not start by boosting any frequency, that's really your last resort and adds unwanted hiss. When the sound is right, you can then boost the volume, if necessary. So GE-7 is a booster as well. I am using two GE-7 units, because otherwise I would need to change the settings for every sound change. Ge-7 has well chosen frequency bands for your adjustment. The wide range of parameters allows for precise control over your sound and the ability to muffle unwanted feedback from other effects in your loop. The recent version of this pedal is less collectable than the earliest Made-in-Japan examples. It’s got the same frequency bands as the GE-6 as well as one additional band at 6.4kHz. There is also a level control that you can use to set the difference of level between on and off mode for the pedal. Each band can be boosted or cut by 15dB. The GE-7 can also be used as a gain booster.

A few components, like the TL022 opamps, have been replaced in this time but the original design is still the same. GE-7 production moved from Japan to Taiwan, early 1992. It was modified for the PSA adapter 1997 and has since then been fitted with a silver bottom label.
