Babes not on Bikes - The Kona Underpants Run

Wattie Ink Girls in the Kona Underpants Run 2012

Every year, before the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, they have a leisure event called the Underpants Run. It was started as a sort of ridicule of the fact that lots of the European Ironmen who would come to Hawaii would offend local sensibilities when walking around in their Speedos. To the store. Around the hotel. Et cetera. So in support of the locals, Paul Huddle (an Ironman himself) decided to poke fun at the "underpants" wearers and ran with two of his friends through town in tighty whities. This was the mid-80s. Now, the run has earned so much notoriety that it has turned into a charity run with the main rule being: look as ridiculous as humanly possible in your underpants.

These girls in the pic obviously did not follow the rule. And I'm sorry that I haven't found a photo of them on bikes. For some reason, however, I don't think anyone minds....
