Bro of the Week – Greg LeMond

You may think this is a bit contradictory, having LeMond featured in this section, seeing as that we’ve also featured Lance Armstrong (and LeMond’s anti-doping stance cost him sponsorship with Armstrong’s then sponsor, Trek) but Bro of the Week is all about great representatives of our sport. All that can be said is that it is undeniable that Armstrong did, in his time, win cycling new support among an American fan base.

That said, enter the great Greg LeMond: two-time world champion and winner of three Tour de Frances. He is the only American to have won the Tour de France (since Armstrong and Landis were stripped of their titles) and he continues to speak out against doping.

He retired in 1994 and was inducted into the US Bicycling Hall of Fame in 1996. This is a bro who has given a whole hell of a lot of support to keeping cycling a good, clean sport.
