The problem is not seen if you watch movie but if you watch white screen then you see it clearly. Now, the polarizer or panel should probably be replaced, if it is the panel I assume you'd have to replace it as set with 3 lcds and a prism, is that true. If so, do you know where that part would be available to be bought used or new. I know it is probably not worth replacing because of the price but id still like to try and find it to see for myself.
Secondly, ive found out there is a calibration software on a cd for service personel for color uniformity, id like to find it but I can't by myself so I d like your help or info on it. I know you have to solder in your own serial rs232 cable but the pin arangement was found here too.Not sure about your Z5. Panasonic direct can supply most parts. In my case I actually bought the CD from them before finding the EIKI download. Can you share a photo of discolouration.I also tried to set integrator lens better after changing bulb, but that was unsuccessful as it was basically the same as before. Unlike my PLV-Z800, most of the lenses are designed to be adjusted on your PJ (mine are all glued). Service manual for my projector says version 4.1 for PLV-z800. When I ordered this for my projector from Panasonic they sent me a CD which only had 4.21 on it - and it worked fine for me. Of course, 4.21 may not work for your projector requiring 4.0. I have no knowledge of it, and if you judge the projector to be toast anyway then it is probably worth a try, but it could kill it I guess. Have a look around the site, must be an option somewhere. So that woud mean something is burned right. I've tried looking into panels and dont see any damage or discoloration on them, but I've seen some dust, but that tint I got on screen doesnt look like dust to me, more like discoloration. I couldnt see polarizer theres just too little space in there, and i didnt want to pull the prism and panel assy out as it would require a whole new set of calibration (common center adjustment). It is time consuming and painful, but do-able. This is what the interface looks like for uniformity on my Z800: The image started getting a blue patch which gradually spread across the image. But you will want to check first as you have a different model. This might be helpful: sanyp plv z3 blue problems At first I thought I was imagining it or that was something with the wall I was watching on.
But after a lamp replacement and me tinkering with cleaning interior of projector (messing with integrator lens), it became more apparent. Now it's spread like I showed it on the pic above. But still it's not getting worse yet, I can live with it but if there is something I can do about it without blowing the budget, I'd try it. I've became a little more relaxed about it and it doesnt bother me that much anymore. I guess if you can't really see it when watching a film etc.I am sure you could improve it with the Sanyo tool and some patience, if you are that way minded. I do not even know if it works with my PJ and does the convergence correction job. I would like to give it a try. Thanks a lot. It is time consuming and painful, but do-able. This is what the interface looks like for uniformity on my Z800: View attachment 761121 Regarding your picture. I would be so happy, if you could maybe send it to me. I need to calibrate my Sanyo Z800 For this I would require the projector service tool v4.20. Is there anybody out who could help me in this matter. All the download links are empty.
