One end of this cable plugs into the USB connector (JP7) on the RX181 controller. Choose a convenient spot away from high-voltage, high power cables and electronics. The video dri ver is supplied by the video card manufacturer and m ay be found on the disks that cam e with your computer. Connecting the T ouch Monitor 1. Turn off your computer. 2. Connect the video cable to th e video card in your computer. 3.
Connect the RS-232 (or USB) serial touch screen cable to the appropriate port on the back of your computer. 4. Connect the power cable to the monitor. Connect the other end to the appropriate AC outlet. Shaking and vibration m ay dislodge cables that are i mproperly connected. Route all wiring and cables away fro m heat sources and sharp m etal edges to avoid damage. Also, keep t he touch screen cable away from sources of electrom agnetic and radio frequency int erference. Access to the Video Controls The controls for adjusting the video di splay are located on the front of the CRT desktop m onitor. These buttons let y ou display the on-screen menu and adjust the phase, i mage position, contrast, and brightness. Make sure you have unobstructed access to the controls once the monitor is installed. The software and driver for each vide o card is unique. In most cases, you adjust th ese settings by using a pr ogram or utility provided by the manufacturer of t he video card. Testing the CRT Touch Monitor Note: The CRT desktop power status light is located on front of the bezel. After connection, tu rn on the power switch located at the bottom of the front bezel. Before you test y our touch monitor, m ake sure all cables are connected properly. Be sure to tighten all cable screws. To test that the monitor is working pr operly: 1. Turn on your computer. 2. Make sure the video image is displayed. If it is not, turn on your monitor. 3. Make sure the video image is cente red within the screen area. Use the monitor controls to adjust the image, if necessary. You can adjust the horizontal and vert ical position, contrast, and brightness to better sui t your video card and your personal preference. Refer to Chapter 2 for more information on using the on-screen menu to adjust t he video display. Installing TouchWare Software TouchWare software includes the touch screen driver and control panel that enables your t ouch screen to work with your comput er.
To comple te the setup of your touch m onitor, make sure you cali brate the touch screen. Calibrating the Touch Screen After you connect your t ouch monitor and install TouchWare, you must calibrate the touch screen. Follow the d irections displayed on th e screen.There will be a few seconds delay before the display appears. The LED (next to the power switch) lights when the power is turned ON. Turn the power off by pressing the power switch again. PINCUSHION Adjusts the side pincushion or barrelling. PARALLELOGRAM Adjusts the tilt of the display sides. PIN BALANCE Adjusts the curvature of the left and right sides of the screen image. CORNER PIN User can select Top or Bottom corner correction by pressing the Select button. Top corrects the top corner image shape to a rectangle. Bottom corrects the bottom corner to a rectangle. COLOR TEMPERATURE Adjusts color temperature to 9300K, 6500K (factory default is 9300K). Or, for a custom color mode, select “USER” and push the select button to activate the RGB submenu. This adjusts the intensity of the RGB video output. Using the select button activate the R-Gain (Red Gain), G-Gain (Green Gain) or B-Gain (Blue Gain) and change color strength for a customized color mode.ROTATION Adjusts the tilt of image. LANGUAGE Selects a language among English, Deutsch, Francais, Espanol, and Italiano. DEGAUSS Manually demagnetizes the CRT. This can be used if the display becomes discolored. Allow a minimum of 20 minutes to elapse between each degauss. The monitor also will automatically degauss when power is applied. OSD Position User can select hor or ver by pressing the Select button. H- position moves the OSD position left or right. V-position moves the OSD position up or down. OSD ON TIME Adjusts on screen OSD running time. Video Level Selects the video level of the video graphic card. If the intensity of the image is high, se lect 1.0V, if low, select 0.7V.

Touch Screen Care and Cleaning The touch screen requires very little maintenance. 3M Tou ch Systems recom mends that y ou periodically clean the glass t ouch screen surface. Typically, i sopropyl alcohol and water solut ion ratio of 50:50 is the best cleaning agent for your touch screen. You can al so use straight isopropyl alcohol. In addition, 3M Touch Screen Cleaner 675 has been tested and approved for this use. Refer to Table 2 for details. For small rear side windows, which re not the windows on the back doors, it necessarily isn’t necessary to do the shrinking on the outside, as they can usually be shaped to the windows just like that. Tinting the rear window The best way to tint the rear windows is cutting and shrinking the sun protection film on the outside of the window, after which the ready-shrank film is installed on to the inside. Instructions for this basic technique can be found from ”Installing Window films”. Also remember to clean both the inside and outside surfaces of the windows and cleaning the car. Couple tips to help you with tinting the rear window: The Window film is easier to cut on the outside, if you put extra lightning in the trunk of the car. This allows you to see the window better through the film. The windows of new cars usually have ceramic dots, after which, when moving towards the edges, the window is completely covered with ceramic coating. The Window film cannot stick well to these places. The film for the rear window should be cut so as that it covers all the dots and spaces between them, but so that it ends before the wholly ceramic area. Take note that sun protection film can be precisely cut already on the outside. The surface area of the window is larger on the outside than on the inside due to the curved shape and thickness of the window. The picture above demonstrates this. That is why the window film is always a bit ”larger” on the inside surface of the window and the film precisely cut on the outside may even be a little too big for the inside. Tinting the rear windows of sedans and coupes With these car models, the small bulges forming in the edges of the film when installing the film on the inside should be located from the outside, where they are easier to spot.
Once you have located such bulges, heat the car window from outside the car and then go inside the car and squeegee the bulges out with a rubber squeegee. To make the taking of the film inside the car easier, wrap the liner-free window film, which is completely sprayed with soap-water solution, over a plastic roll. Open up the roll directly on to the inside of the rear window. Tinting the rear window using multiple pieces Some people like to tint the rear window with multiple piece of sun protection film. This is done as a consequence of not being able to tint the window with a single piece of film. The reason for that is usually bad window film or lack of knowledge. You, however, do not have to do that, because if you have read this guide, you will know more about the topic than 95 of DIY window-tinters. The rear window of almost any car be tinted with a single piece of sun protection film. If you still want to do the rear window with multiple pieces, here some advice: Leave some extra to the pieces when cutting them, so you can make a butt seam. Shrink the pieces on the outside, just as if you were using a single piece. Make butt seams between the pieces. So use a sharp box cutter to cut the films horizontally from the place where they are on top of each other. Remove the cut pieces of the film from underneath one film and from on top of the other. Now a you have a tight seam, which is not raised. The ends of the films should be opposite to each other, so that there is no air between them. NB! Be careful when cutting close to the heating stripes, as they break very easily. If making the butt seam caused air or soap-water to get under the film squeegee them out. If the windows aren’t curved, you might not even have to shrink the Window film on the outside. You should, however, cut the film to the right size on the outside.
