Vuelva a intentarlo I woke up this morning and what do you know, one of my acro's completely bleached and a couple others not looking as vibrant as usual.I would like to add, some of my acro's(high intensity loving one's) have already shown noticeable growth after just 2 weeks. My RBTA seems to not mind the extreme light and none of my orange spiny gorgonians have show any signs of deterioration. I have two birdsnests 1 green the other purple, both have showed no signs of deterioration but are located nearer to the bottom of the tank. I have 2 purple queen anthias, 3 blue reef chromis, 1 clownfish and a bristle tooth tang, all of which look amazing under these lights. I suggest not going over 60 white, 80blue(and those numbers might still be too much). Start low and work your way up to the above numbers. Remember these leds have focusing lenses which cause the light to be focused onto the reef which to our human eye makes it seem not as bright. Update. I have had these lights running for just over a month and i would like to provide some feedback.I had originally put them on one of the pre programmed settings and i bleached one of my acros within a few days and had effectively shocked the rest. I manually programmed them to 60 blue 45 white for ten hours a day and one by one watched the rest of my acro's bleach and rtn within a few days(LESSON LEARNED). I currently have them set to 40 blue 40 white for 10 hours a day and have noticed some improvement in the sps that survived(birds nests). Again, it was user error and in no way does this reflect on the quality of the lights, they are great but MUST BE PROGRAMMED AT A LOW SETTING TO START, NO MORE THAN 30 - 40.Gracias por su comentario. I had technical questions and GalaxyHydro responded quickly and the person had decent language skills (Chinese company).
I work in the computer industry and have some knowledge on how these devices would be designed but I had some issue getting the lights setup exactly as I would like because the app is a bit confusing. I have made recommendations to them on some improvements and hopefully they will improve the app. Part of the issue is we are using three lights for the tank and the lights and app are really designed for single light applications. They told me that there was another light they make with an different app which is designed for multiple lights. My wife bought these lights without asking me so I am working with what i had. Saying all that, you can configure the lights to behave the same way. I work in a the computer industry and am knowledgeable about embedded computing systems. I know my wife who is not a geek would have struggled. My hopes is these tips might help others out there. First off some terms the app uses. Controller is the processor in the light that is handling network and the light functions. When they saw data, this is the data that is currently loaded in the phone either by downloading it from the light or selecting a template. 1. Turn on each light separately and log into the light. They implemented a wireless network in the light. Following the instructions in the included manual works well. Make sure the switch on the top is set to WiFi. Select the AqDim access point and use 12345678 for the passcode. 2. Under settings, select Connection to connect. Sometimes this thing connected quickly and other times it did not. I think part of the problem was that when you make changes like the user name and password, the micro controller in the light resets and it takes a little time for the controller to be ready. Now that the lights have been on for a while, it connects pretty consistently without a delay. 3. Under Settings change the user name. This is really changing the name of the hotspot of the light. Wait a bit before you try to connect again.
You will see the new access point show up. 4. I changed the password as well. You can use the same one for all three. Change the network ip address and subnet only if you have a conflict. Wait a while before you try to connect. 5. You have to make sure that you have the real time clock in the light updated from the settings by selecting Adjust controller timer. This sets the light to the same time as the phone. I asked the company and they have a battery backed up clock so if the power goes out the time is saved. 6. Select a template by hitting Use template 1-5. I believe this writes the times and intensities to the light at that moment. This is not clear from the instructions but I am pretty sure this is what is happening. Template 5 is one that can be saved on your phone for modified programs. The company also told me the programs set in the light will be persistent between power cycles. 7. If you like that program just use it. I typically make sure that I select Auto Mode. 8. The tricky part for me is having a program that is saved for the future. I thought I could go in to the Automatic tab, which allows you to make changes to the program, make the changes, and then use the Save to custom template option on the Settings page. I am still not 100 sure about this process since the lights are working as I desire I really hate to mess with them again. At some point I will try this again. I am pretty sure you have to Use template 5, make the changes under the Automatic tab, then Upload the data to Template 5. I think that the app actually takes the current light programming and moves it to Template 5 on the phone. You cannot use the Download data to cell phone, change the data under Automatic, then Upload to Template 5, this does not work. I create a spreadsheet of the settings. 9. Making changes under the Automatic tab will actually control the iight levels as you do it. This is actually very nice.
You will see the light go back to the schedule light levels when you close that time. 10. When you have the program done, move to the next light. If you don't change the settings under Automatic, you can go to the next light, setup the new user name and password, connect to that light, adjust the time, and just use the Upload data to controller. This will now have the same program in both lights with the same time. You can repeat this for all your lights. 11. Later if you decide you don't like a setting, like my wife did a few times, you connect into one of the lights, open the Automatic tab, make the change, go back to settings and make sure it is in Automatic mode. I don't think the last step is necessary but I like to be sure. Disconnect from that light and go to the next. Now when you connect to the other lights, simply Upload data to controller. If you play with it a bit you will get the hang of it and it becomes pretty straight forward and the lights are working great now. The fans were not working. I had the fan for about 8 months. Contacted Galaxyhydro for help and they quickly agreed to send replacement fans and LED drivers. Replaced the fans tonight to get the light working. All is well. I really appreciate the battery backup they included with the design. I replaced the fans and plugged the light back in and the programming continued. Too bad that it looks like they are no longer selling these lights, the are really great and the company stands by the product.Gracias por su comentario. Vuelva a intentarlo After a week the fans started making a lot of noise. They have an app for your phone that you can customize the lighting scheme. We noticed our corals dying, very expensive corals. We tried every setting, tried their custom templates and still, corals were dying. Our fish were very stressed also. I woke up one night and noticed one of the lights, above the corals that were dying, the light was on at 100. All the channels were blasting the tank.
Not sure how long this was going on for. Checked all the settings and tried to reset it. Contacted the seller and initiated a return. It was practically impossible communicating with them. They are in China so it would take a couple days for them to get back and couldn't understand the emails most of the time. Took several emails to get the RMA and return address. Then it took a couple weeks after the tracking said they received it, and several dozen emails to get my money back. After another couple weeks, the second light we had purchased started doing the same thing. Contacted the seller again and this time he wanted to send parts to replace. So now I'm getting a new power supply and wifi module that I have to figure out how to take this light apart and start replacing parts. They sent no instructions on how to do this. I then asked to return this light. We are going on almost a month and this guy is playing some kind of game with me. I got the RMA and sent the light back, sent him the tracking information stating it was delivered but he keeps asking me when I'm going to return it and I have sent him 18 emails now, day after day sending him the tracking information. He keeps sending the same emails asking when I'm going to return it. There is no way to contact them besides email. I'm afraid I'll never see my money back and for a disabled veteran making very little money on disability, this is a big chunk of money. These are cheap lights. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money on goods lights or you'll end up not only loosing your money on them, your coral will die and your fish will get so stressed you'll be fighting Ick in your tank. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had purchasing something on Amazon. Had to come back and add. This seller tried to bribe me. As you can see, I don't like to be bribed. Also this seller said he would pay return shipping and won't honor that agreement.

Vuelva a intentarlo Originally I thought these were great lights but a year later my opinion has changed. I no longer can connect to either of my 2 lights via wifi. I'm fairly electronic savvy. I've reset the light to factory settings, reinstalled the app, changed passwords, messed with all the settings and I can't connect through wifi anymore. One of the 2 lights makes an awful noise when the fan is on. 1 light has slightly different color than the other. And I'm kind of left with a bad taste in my mouth with these lights. Vuelva a intentarlo I could not initially download the android app for my phone. After emails with the company, i was able to get the app working on the ipad, but i am still working on the phone. The hanging method leaves something to be desired. The power cable pulls the fixture sideways and down, unless you route the power cable up or to the side. A straught plug rather than a 90 degree might work better. All in all a good deal if the lights last for a good long time. Update - can’t adjust lights, which adjust with sliders, if the slider is off the screen, as it is on many of the preset segments in the program. Vuelva a intentarlo Being able to control them with my iPhone is very convenient and gets me the light effect I want at and time I want. I have the lights programmed to ramp up starting at 11 and ramp down turning off at 6. My lights are never above 60 on my blues and 40 on my whites. My tank was brand new when adding these lights and my corals have doubled and some even more in size. I had a small problem about a year into my lights with my royal blue channel blowing. Customer service was fantastic getting ahold of my asap and helped me fix my broken light good as new. A man named Max helped me with everything and anything I needed until my lights got fixed and I was very pleased. I wouldn't be afraid to recommend these lights to anyone because they do a great job.Gracias por su comentario. Vuelva a intentarlo Now that it is up and running I'm very happy with this light. Downloading the app and programming took a little research but once you figure it out it is pretty simple. I'm using this on a 40B tank and it is very close to being enough by itself. The out couple inches of the tank don't get much light. Vuelva a intentarlo I ordered 1 originally for a 29g salt water tank, later that tank was moved into a 72g bowfront. I then purchased a 2nd light. The app is absolute garbage but does what it needs to do. As of now, the first light i purchased turns itself on and off randomly and the fans make horrendous noise. The only reason I am leaving a review is because I need to get the sellers attention so I can file an RMA.

They will randomly turn on and off mostly at night so you might not notice for a while. Vendor is very nice, sent me a new 'brain' module but it did not correct the issue. If you want a great manual light for a great price, buy it. If you really need sun up to sundown adjustments -- move on to something else.Gracias por su comentario. Vuelva a intentarlo I have one for a 40 gallon hanging approx 12 inches from the surface of the water. I measured the par with a seneye. About 2-3 inches below the surface of the water on 100 white and 100 blue it is about 4-500 par which is good for SPS. 3-5 inches is about 2-300 par depending where the light is. I highly recommend using the seneye or other par meter that is accurate to set the lights right for corals.Gracias por su comentario. Vuelva a intentarlo I picked up another high rating LED on Amazon, the Orbit, but it wasn't bright enough and it looked pink. I have a 100 gallon and decided to go with 3 of these. I like the colors much better. COLOR: The blue is really nice. This is a very bright light if you want it to be, I have the white around 40-50 and the blue at 80-90. I run the center light in blue in the morning and at sun down. It really puts a nice look in the tank with a center focus. The corals look very nice under this light, even towards the bottom. It has 3 different colors. White, Blue and Royal blue. The Royal Blue is more for the moon feature. I run that at around 10-12 at night. Corals pop in the darkness. WIFI: It works but you have to know what you're doing. I have 3 different lights. I set up each one under their own wifi on my phone. I can have the daylight go from the left to right, like natural sun or run the center first. The first thing is it runs on 24 hour clock and there are 24 time spots available to program.
If you don't make sure everything is correct and not overlapping, it can glitch on you. Once you have your program you need to upload it to the light. You can also save your setting. Now, one thing I wish they would do is have more spots to save your settings to. They only have one. Since I'm running 3 lights I have multiple programs and I can't save all three at the same time. They work but if I want to change one I can't go back to an older setting if I liked that better without having to completely redo it. Overall, I do like the control on my iPhone. Expect a little tweaking when starting but you will get it and it does work correctly. MOUNTING: I have a 48 inch canopy. The mounting they have doesn't work unless you do some modifications. I spent about 30 dollars at home depot for an easy mount. They should offer this canopy mount style. I basically got a wood pole used to hang curtains. They have some nice painted ones if you look around. I cut it to 48. I then bought a couple u bolts, one for each side. I drilled 2 holes for the bolts at the tope of the canopy. It all looks really nice. Now, the hangers they have are way too long so you have to shorten to about 6 inches. The cables go from left front to left back and on the other side right front to right rear. Its very simple when you see it. So really, if they made a canopy edition mount they would only need a 48 inch bar, 2 u bolts and 6 6-inch straps. I'll add pic later. FANS: Two years ago I tried these and sent them back because the fans were way to loud. They fixed that. These are really quiet. I can't really hear them. UPDATES FOR FUTURE: Please add more slots to save programs. Please make a canopy mount or at least offer different lengths of cables for mounting. OVERALL, this is the best bang for the buck LED unit. I got 3, you will only need 2 on larger tanks maybe but you may have some shadowing. There is some heat, but very little. My old t5 lighting was so hot I couldn't touch.
Don't waste your time looking around at other LEDs. I did that and tried some, this is the best. The customer service is good to, but you have to ask him on here.Gracias por su comentario. Vuelva a intentarlo.
I am running 40:1 Still oil and 87 oct gas. I got 6100 this afternoon with a xoar 26-8 prop. It had good response from idle to top. I have also ran a Menz 24-10 and a PT Models 25-10, but I didn't check the rpms with either of those props. Just trying to get a baseline for this engine. Does yours have the blue or the natural crankcase? ( What does the writing on your ignition module say on it?) I started mine out on a 24-10 for an hour's worth of break-in like my manual said and then switched to some 26-10's. The 24-10 was doing between 68 and 6900. As it broke in it was bumping 7 to 7100. I then switched to the 26-10 props and was making a lot of tip noise. I called the Desert Aircraft folks and talked to Bryan and he basically told me I was using paint stir sticks for a prop and I ought to get a decent prop. It was much quieter and it doing between 68 and 6900. (As good as when I ran a 24-10 break-in prop!) I haven't tached it lately but its now run about 6 gallons through it and it makes the CAP scoot. I'll dig out my manual and make you a copy. PM me and I'll figure if you wanted it e-mailed or sent to you. WTI think this engine is from the early 90's can't say for sure. Mine is also on H9 33 Cap. I burnt a piston last year and am trying to get it broke back in. You can't even get replacement parts for this engine. According to AI I managed to get the last set of rings and piston that they had. The engine runs fine and has good power I am just trying to figure out what the engine should turn with what prop.
