After comparing the price, I decide to return it to Home Depot and buy from Amazon. And amazingly, after only one day, the tracking told me that my PS20 is on the way for delivery. Each purchase involves hours of research since competing products at a similar price point can be very different in quality and effectiveness. Bosch seems to occupy the lion''s share of my tools and for good reason. They're always innovative, the quality is felt as soon as you hold their products and they seem to give years of trouble free service. This driver is no exception. The quick release chuck is a pleasure to use especially when switching between driver bits and the Bosch quick fit drill bits so you don't need to have a separate drill and driver or waste time changing between the two. The batteries charge very quickly and seem to last forever on a charge. Even for a tool lover this thing is an uncommon delight. You'll find yourself tempted to just start disassembling things just for the fun of using this tool. If you need a driver as a DIY person or as a contractor, you won't regret buying this Bosch. I was looking for a small but powerful drill for use around the house and in projects. I was pleasantly surprised to unpack this drill and find that it is nice and small- and that it fits my hand and is not heavy. I was hoping that it had enough power to drive screws into studs, and to not bog down on power use. What I have found with every use is that it has more than enough power to do the job. I am so happy with this little drill, that I seldom even use my bigger battery drill from Sears. The only drawback that I can see is that the chuck is not a traditional tightening chuck, but a quick release type that takes the bits that have the quick grab base. You can't put a traditional drill bit directly in the quick release chuck without an adapter. So far, since I have bits that work in most projects that fit this drill, I haven't needed an adapter. When I do need a drill bit - I use my traditional drill. If you want power, smaller size, quick changing of bits and a drill that has variable speeds in the trigger, long life batteries, and adjustable torque, you can't go wrong here. It has power, small size and it is very easy to use. Incidentally my wife likes using it too. The smaller size works great for her smaller hands. It is simple in design, easy to use, has a ratcheting feature and variable speed (which really is useful when starting screws without a pilot hole or if you didn't use a punch to start a divot when drilling into steel or wood) The battery charges quickly and easy to change. My driver came with a free flashlight and an extra battery that fits the flashlight and driver to boot. All in great carrying case.
I bought this driver,the counter bit set and the Bosch kit with the quick clic change drill bits, and assortment of nut drivers and screwdrivers. I had the Milwaukee 6547-22 2.4-Volt Two Speed Cordless Screwdriver for a couple of years prior to getting this one and it served me well, but this one is stronger and the lithium batteries last longer. I would have to swap out the battery after about a day or so with the Milwaukee, so far with this one I get almost 3 days use on one charge. A little thing that I love is the light that comes on when you press the trigger. So many times a screw will be in an area that is not well lit and tough to see and that silly little light helps tremendously. Its a little heavier than the Milwaukee, but is easy to hold and you have good control when using it. One other thing is that you have to pull on the locking sleeve to release the bits as opposed to just popping them in and out on the Milwaukee, but I got use to that quickly and its not a problem. We used a pen-style 3-Volt cordless driver before the PS20. It had no adjustable clutch, had no speed control, was slow to recharge, and had a very limited torque. This driver is not much bigger than a pen-drive, sits nicely in the hand without fatigue, and the max 700 RPM is exactly what we need to get the job done in a snappy way.
What I absolutely love is the wide range of the clutch: No chance to bust the threads of a 2.5 mm metal screw with a low clutch setting, although it goes in at max RPM. The low mass of the chuck is an advantage here. On the highest clutch setting, you need to apply an unexpected force to hold the tool. It can develop a surprisingly high torque for it's size.
