Bosch used to be synonymous with quality - these drills were not.Unfortunately replacement was just as bad, Bosch not interested, they say there is no manufacturing defect, but I think the lack of a thermal overload cut out is a design fault.I think they occupy that gap between the cheap tools and the likes of Makita and De Walt. I purchased this particular drill because I initially needed it to drill into masonry so the hammer action was a must. It comes with an adjustable hand grip which is great for added control and the depth gauge works wonders when you need it. I really like the adjustable speed control (located on the top of the unit) which allows you to adjust the drill accordingly to what you are drilling. I'm pretty sure my Dad has some old Bosch tools from the 70's so I won't be surprised if I am still using this drill in 2050!This Bosch is ideal for jobs in the home because it's not too heavy, has a reasonable combination of features (adequate power, hammer option, variable speed, easy lock chuck etc) and just gets the job done easily.
