There's no play in the blade like other jigsaws I've owned and there is plenty of power. One thing I would recommend though is for people to buy proper blades. They were slow and starting to burn the timber as they cut.This is a fantastic little jigsaw but do not let that put you off or think that it is in any way underpowered. This is a powerful little bit of kit and does exactly what it says it will. It's not noisy at all and is very easy to handle, comes in its own case which is a real perk for storage. Be careful to read the description in terms of how much it is able to cut however. You are limited on the thickness of what materials it can get through. In my experience for general DIY around the house this is all that you will need.Best decision I've made all year. It's comfortable. It's powerful. It's versatile. Watching videos on YouTube for it and am amazed. Can cut directly into the middle of wood, creating a clean hole from the middle, without need to pre-drill a hole. Stunning. The rotary action on the blade is amazing for fast cuts. The blower is great for dispersing dust as you cut, or turn off if you have a hoover attached. The control action is fantastic, full analogue control of the speed of the motor. Genuinely love it. Best purchase I've made for a whileTough and versatile You need to buy some different blades to really see what it can do, but you won’t be disappointed. I cut the sink opening in my new kitchen worktop with it and it was pretty accurate. Jigsaw blades are always a bit wobbly, but this one was pretty steady. I have also used it to cut the new laminate (vinyl) floor tiles and all the fiddly bits around the pipes and cupboard base units. It seems quite happy to have a go at anything - as long as you have the right blade in it. Changing blades is easy - just push and click. You change the speed by pressing the trigger. The more you press the faster it goes. Simple - and it means you can control the speed as you go along, rather than setting the speed on a dial then having to stop to adjust it.Speed increases or decreases with a finger trigger, kind of like a petrol chainsaw.
So the speed is easy to control. The instructions aren’t great - I had to post a question online to understand how to change the blade. But it was quickly answered. I also love the Bosch cases. They last for years and make storage and transport simple and safe. Another excellent Bosch product, and really affordable.It is cheapish and light to use. Fine for cutting light timber for rough work. OK for small jobs e.g. cutting notches in thinnish timber and board or rough cutting lengths But not really good enough for precision work. Alignment of notch guide with blade is poor. However, the jigsaw is comfortable to use and if careful it is possible to counter the tendency to drift offline. I guess it's just an average tool. Shame though, really loved my old Bosch. Quality is just not the same.This Bosch looks nice and the anti-vibration handle is a nice touch, but some of the features are not working that well. It has a dust extraction feature which clearly does not work. I have a Bosch industrial vacuum and even with that I cannot get the sawdust away. The speed can be controlled with the start butting, the more you press the faster it goes. Also, it does not work well in a jigsaw table for the same reason. I would recommend buying a say that has a separate dial for adjusting speed.Although it was much more expensive than my previous jigsaw it is worth every bit of it. The blade holder has no play in it which means you can make fairly precise cuts, not something possible with my old one. It is powerful and the trigger allows fine control of the speed of oscillations while cutting. This is very important as the speed needs to be very different for optimal cutting in different materials. With good sharp blades fitted I have been surprised by the smooth cut surfaces it leaves, which require a fairly modest amount of sanding afterwards to make them smooth.
The Bosch is also about half the size and weight of my old jigsaw but is more powerful, has a better designed grip and is fitted with a little blower that clears sawdust from the cutting line — very handy. When I registered my first Bosch power tool (a cordless drill) for the three year warranty I was very surprised to see what Bosch provide. There are disassembly diagrams for the tools you register and spare parts can be bought once the tool is out of warranty. Not only that but the spare part prices are actually reasonable. In addition I looked around the web site and found spare parts for power drills discontinued 25 years ago. That's proper backup for customers and gives me great confidence in my Bosch tools. I have never had a failure until today. FYI, I am also a retired (30 years) journeyman tool and die maker.He hired a mason to do some work on the outside of the house and when he mentioned to the mason that he wanted to expose some brick, the mason dragged the same tool out of his truck and said that he should use the Bosch Bulldog because that’s what his crew always uses for their work. So far it’s been great. The one criticism is that the air exhaust will blow dust into your face at some angles. It’s just a question of learning to change the way you hold it as you move it around. I wish though that the exhaust were adjustable.It almost instantly gets unstuck, ready to go at it again. The D-Handle is in my opinion adequately designed and does the job well - I've never removed it, always using the D-Handle on every use without a problem whatsoever. The only issue I have had is the depth gauge, but nothing worth dinging any stars from the core tool itself.whatever metal it's made of (aluminum?) is flimsy and it bends way too easily. Sure I can unbend it but it's a bother trying to really straighten it out. I have no comparisons to other hammer-drills of the SDS-Plus class so I do not have adequate perspective to share. I bought the tool based on the reviews on Amazon and research of SDS, SDS-Plus, and SDS-Max hammer drills.The Bulldog has yet to meet it's match. No messy dust from saws and jack hammers that I would have to rent costing more than this tool.

Please try again However, I will say that, compared to hammer-action drills, this tool is a dream. Sinks into concrete with little user effort, stays centred on holes, doesn't seem to heat up at all, and doesn't torque much if happens to bind. In fact, it seems so effortless, one is initially left with the impression that it's not even doing anything, until one realises how deep the hole is. Be aware, however, that it has an SDS chuck. If you intend to use it with regular bits, then you'll need an adaptor. YMMV, but I've had bad luck with the adaptor I bought (the expensive SDS-plus Keyless Chuck from Bosch, which did heat up and literally fell apart and shattered after very little use). I didn't know what SDS was before I bought it. Once I figured out the fact that I need different bits for this bad boy I was on my way. I wish someone would come out with an SDS nail driver attachment.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I had previously tried a normal impact drill, which took a very long time to drill small holes into the rocks, and even a Dewalt electric jack-hammer, which didn't work at all. I also used it on solid concrete, which is actually much softer than rock, and it drilled the same size holes in about 5 seconds each. This is one of those products which is really necessary for drilling into masonry and rock, if you want to save time and effort, since the hammer effect operates on a different principle than a normal impact drill. Please try again I've used hammer drills before, and this rotary hammer is just light years better. It's reasonably light, doesn't require any pressure at all to drill in concrete, runs very cool, and is very fast. I've also used the hammer only function to chisel some uneven parts off of the basement concrete... after about an hour of chiselling the hammer got warmer but never hot to the touch (as my previous hammer drill did).
