If I want to change a cycle type or add a function (e.g. half loaf, which is the function i use a lot), Selecting any new cycle or adding any function does not work. What happens is I select the new function, the corresponding LED illuminates, I hear a chirp BUT the new cycle or function setting DOES NOT stay illuminated. But when we have visitors who inevitably disrupt the wash to add a dish because they didn’t know it was running, it becomes a real problem. We most often have visitors around the holidays and there’s nothing like waking up Thanksgiving or Christmas morning to find the dishwasher didn’t finish. I’ve tried disconnecting the water supply to check if the filter was clogged but there were only 4 tiny particles that could not be the reason for any blockage.Taking it off power supply (hard reset) also did not help. If you have any suggestions I’d be happy to try before calling a technician. Now no lights or power at all. Tried turning the breaker off for 5-7 minutes. We did have a disposal problem (too many egg shells, which we fixed) a few hours prior to starting the dishwasher. I was curious however as to which part the repairman said was unavailable. And if he checked the water inlet valve, sometimes they malfunction and the water keeps filling the dishwasher. It is possible yes that is a drain hose but its a process of elimination. Here is nearly every single part on the dishwasher available so i knowing which part he mentioned was unavailable would be interesting. The door seals are also available on the first page. If the wash arm is intact, make sure the screws in the wash arm support are tight. If the wash arm support is loose, water can spray out between the wash arm support and the lower pump housing, causing waves. These waves can cause water to leak out of the bottom of the door. It comes with a traditional silverware caddy that fits in the bottom rack, but we never use it. The top control panel works fine, but it just seems a little flimsy and also has a slightly sharp edge that I sometimes catch the back of my hand on as I'm closing the dishwasher. I also have never been able to make the end of cycle beep silent. I followed the directions to turn the beep off, but it still beeps. We run the dishwasher every night when we go to bed, and I sometimes hear it beep when it finishes. It doesn't wake me up, but it's kind-of annoying to not be able to turn it off. For some reason I don't know why but Bosch seems to have the most complaints. Perhaps it is the most popular oven sold in that price point. As you mentioned this shattering has been going on for some time and I'm kind of surprised that an Attorney hasn't gotten involved and filed a class action suit. I don't have a recommendation for a specific brand to replace it with. I have no answer for your 3rd party situation. I purchase appliances from locally owned stores that have their in-house service departments so that if I do have any issues then I'm dealing with one entity. It does seem to suggest the display reads in total minutes (not hours:minutes). Normal wash seems low, while Auto is higher than what the manual says is maximum. Seems like the manual is wrong, or the electronics are acting funny. Ouch, that is ugly! It looks like the dishwasher was built starting with the sensor, and everything else was installed around it. What were they thinking! And I hope it is not the electronics. That is what killed our last dishwasher. There is no harm in not replacing your sensor.
