VIDOS to Bosch VMS Migration Guide In an existing VIDOS VRM system (encoders and) cameras are recorded on an iscsi device. Before you activate the new Bosch VMS configuration, make sure that you have added the VRM, the iscsi device and all your (encoders and) cameras. The recordings of each (encoder and) camera that has not been added, is deleted as soon as you activate your Bosch VMS configuration. When you change the hardware of the VRM server, first remove the (encoders and) cameras and then the storage from the VRM server, otherwise recordings get lost. Do not change any IP address of (encoders and) cameras during migration. Otherwise recordings can get lost. Do not activate your configuration until you have completed the entire configuration. Otherwise the configuration is sent to all affected devices and the VIDOS clients cannot operate. Depending on the configuration performed until the activation, recording can get interrupted and recordings can get lost.
When you scan the network for (encoders and) cameras recorded with VRM from within Bosch VMS Configuration Client, the cameras are automatically renamed. Backup VRM is not supported in Bosch VMS. Make sure that the same VRM software version is used as is released for your Bosch VMS version. When you have a VRM server computer with Windows Server 2008 installed, and you want to install Bosch VMS Central Server on this computer, downgrade this computer to Windows Server For this downgrade you must install the VRM computer from scratch.
You can use your Windows 2008 Server license for installing Windows Server Bosch VMS must provide sufficient camera licenses to cover for all cameras that are managed by the VRM. With Configuration Manager you have access to all devices and software components. The program offers also a configuration wizard for quick basic configuration of devices. This function automatically detects all compatible devices present in a network, such as cameras or video senders, video receivers or VRM. When in operation, the configuration data of the devices is transferred to your computer where it can be edited offline. This functionality can also be used to back up the configuration data of the devices locally. If, for example, a device needs to be replaced by another of the same type, this data can then be transferred to the new device. This functionality is extended with the Replacement command. Replaced devices are detected and automatic configuration is possible thanks to the saved data. Furthermore, you can also use Configuration Manager to simplify the configuration in a CCTV system with many similar video senders. Sound card Recommended Network adapter 100 Mbps Notice.
