The gentleman providing the instruction is fantastic. He is clear, personable and articulate. He has a real talent for knowing when to elaborate. Every time I was unclear on a particular point, it was like he anticipated it and, in the next 10 seconds, addressed that point. Boss br800 Very helpful dvd R R.C. Br-800 I purchased the Boss BR-800 over a year ago, but new nothing about music recording and quickly found myself lost using the BR-800's owner's manual. I quit using the recorder until it was suggested I purchase the instruction DVD from ProAudio. I am delighted! The DVD instructions are both easy to understand for beginners yet detailed enough to progress into some of the advanced features. The quality of the presentation is excellent. I have since recorded 2 songs with 4 tracks each, mixed them, down-loaded to my computer and created a cd. I never would have gotten there without the help of this DVD from ProAudio. The way out is to remove the Memory card and plug it into the computer memory slot and I can get the song over in 10 seconds, but that is a bit of pain. Also, the USB does not always connect to the computer and I have to stop and restart the br800 a few times to get it to work. I would definitely want something faster in the future.
Other than that it works very well once you get to know the system. It has two condenser mics for stereo recording right on it. Display and navigation is easy. Recording and mastering can all be done right on the unit. You can also connect an expression pedal for real time pitch shifting and choose from a large selection of wahs. Don't forget to fully read the manual and update the firmware. Hook it up to your computer to be powered via USB and run your whole computer sound system through it. Remember, new features are available if update.
