I mainly use them for keyboard and midi modules connected to the keyboard but also for controlling the volume of soundtracks used for some live performances. All three pedals work great and are of good quality. I especially like the FV50L because it is considerably shorter than the others taking up less room and it is made of lightweight but sturdy plastic. If you are rough on foot pedals the FV200 (an older model) or FV500L would be a better choice depending on the features you want. The FV50L has the minimum volume level control and a tuner output but it doesn't have the adjustable feel control that the FV500L has. The feel resistance on the FV50L is fine for me and I never had to touch that control on the FV500L as it was fine right out of the box. The FV200 only has the minimum volume level control. There is virtually no extra noise added from any of these pedals and no noisy pots even in the old FV200 that I bought used. The volume sweeps are all smooth and even. See pictures to compare.

As for the looks of the pedal, I would say that the FV-50H looks pretty nice overall. I am personally a big fan of the classy black finish. In saying that though, I think the blue patch found on top looks a bit out of place. This is obviously just me being a bit nitpicky, but that’s what you have to do when you are reviewing a new product. I try my absolute best to be as thorough as possible. This is a staple feature that is seen in many of the other volume pedals that have been produced by BOSS. As the name suggests, this knob sets the minimum volume of the pedal. This will change depending on the type of performance you are planning to perform. Final Thoughts Let me start off by saying that I think the BOSS FV-50H is a very nice volume pedal. The M13 behave strangly: some effects in a scene react OK, but some do not react at all. How do I try to setup a scene: Select scene Set expression pedal to the heel down position. Adjust the Mix level of one effect of the scene. Set it to 0. Put expression pedal in the toe down position and set the Mix level to 100.
