The Espresso is delicious, the drip coffee is, well, drip coffee.One concern expressed in these reviews is the espresso filter. Mostly unwarrented. The filter does lock when it is hot and pressure is high after brewing. Ooh, I had to wait a minute and a half to remove it. Not at concern. The filter leaks if it it is not fullt locked. Solution, push it all the way over and, voila, no leak or drip. The filter is too small for a rich cup of espresso? Hardly. If it seems to small you are probably trying to pack as much espresso as you need for a rich cup, I recommend you use a real espresso blend. The Briel makes a damn good cup of espresso, be it pods or grind. My biggest peeve? The drip filter holder is a cone but doesn't fit a standard gold cone. I'll have to research this one. As one other person mentioned, it is somewhat inconvenient if you keep it under a cupboard, as the lid to the tank is on top. As for the espresso side, we make on average 3-4 cups of espresso a day with it, and have for over three years now. Amazing durability and very consistent performance when using pods. We use the Espressione brand pods from another retailer primarily, and sometimes Illy or Starbucks pods in a pinch. Great crema and really a durable machine for the heavy use it gets. The performance is more sporadic when using ground espresso coffee, usually it makes a very small amount, however we never experimented with it very much since pods are so easy to use. Also, the slider for the amount of espresso is extremely inaccurate and seemingly random. Once you get it set where you want it, you better hope no one messes with it as it can take many tries to 'dial it in' to the appropriate setting again.Please try again later. Please try again later. So I decided to just keep the first original machine and send back the replacement, because the frother on the first original machine with missing items doesn't drip water. So I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with a good espresso making machine with missing parts. I don't want to return the item at all because it makes wonderful espressos. Especially, if you love stainless-made cookwares or kitchen electrics, you'll love the look of this machine. At last but least, there are two more disadvantages that contribute to this machine.
