The printer speed is more than acceptable and the printing is sharp. The duplex works well and is reasonably fast. It does not do graphics nor photos well but that is not what I bought it for. It has a good manual feed tray that works well. The big drawback is the documentation. The only printed documentation is the Setup which is extensive but not always correct. My installation of the Windows XP parallel drivers did not go as the Setup Manual said it would but it was only a minor glitch. However, finding out how to use the printer was another matter because all the user documentation is on the Installation disk in Adobe. The user is stuck if the user doesn't have or want Adobe Reader installed on the PC. It is not very useful if it is not printed out in manual form. Printing it out is tedious and more expensive than it should be. Because some of the pages contain color particularly those referring to the Control Panel, these need to be printed out on a color printer so one cannot just print the entire manual in duplex on the 5150D. And there are many pages in the User Manual that one does not need such as instructions for Mac and all the safety and other garbage to fatten the manual. But selecting the pages to duplex copy is tedious because instead of numbering the pages in the Manual consecutively, Brother chose to number them by chapters so that each chapter starts with a new page numbers which makes the index difficult to use also and the index is quite incomplete. It would have been much easier for Brother to provide a smaller size manual with the color.Please try again later. Please try again later. I've never used a printer that curled pages before. It also crumbles envelopes. And the manual feed is weak at picking things up.
