JanetEC 3.0 out of 5 stars I also like having the dictionaries and the Nave's Topical Bible included. Cons: As other people have said, the navigation is not the greatest, but it is workable. First of all, you cannot search the Bible by typing the book, chapter, verse. As a matter of fact, there are no instructions whatsoever in the book to tell you how to search at all. The Nave's Bible does have the letters of the alphabet listed with hot links under each letter.

If you select one of the letters, it will take you to a page with the list of words beginning with that letter. You can select the word and it will take you to the topic. I also found that when trying to move the cursor down the page to an underlined link in the KJV, it was sluggish moving down the page. Sometimes I had a hard time getting it to move down the page and sometimes it would go past where I wanted it to stop. It was hard seeing where the darn thing was. It would just disappear. All in all, it's the best thing to have, at the moment, for Bible study using the Kindle. Thank God, when a publisher updates a book that you've downloaded, Amazon always lets you know about the update via E-mail. I've had that happen several times already. Most Kindle books are updated periodically as readers report issues. This title is a complex book bundle and was updated once but more updates are needed to bring to a unique level of excellence. One example is the table of contents menu accessible by the three bars in the upper left corner of the screen. There is no link to the book of Luke. I know Luke follows Mark and precedes Acts and tediously swiped my way there from an adjacent book, but what a hassle. Bookmarks could be improved if the user could give them meaningful names. Otherwise one eventually has a list of unintelligible links. When following links from Bible to concordance to dictionary it would be great if a bread crumb trail allowed one to return to the original verse. I realize this next item would be a substantial undertaking, but cross references like those in most hard copy Bibles with links (and bread crumbs, of course) would set this bundle apart. I have developed digital Bible research tools and understand that the Kindle format is limiting, which makes producing research works like this for the Kindle difficult. I would be interested in discussing contributing to such efforts.

The Bible Study Suite focuses on the King James Version of the Bible, a wonderful edition of superlative literary quality. The release of the Bible Study Suite provides the reader not only clarification of biblical texts and their meaning but provides a marvelous toolbox of additional resources, especially tools a reader can use to mark and otherwise highlight meaningful passages of the scriptures. Besides reading the text in English, a student will often enjoy additional help to increase understanding of the true meaning of certain passages. The Bible Study Suite also features some texts in the original languages, Hebrew and Greek, in order to clarify obscure and obsolete terms and to explain idiomatic phrases. Overall, this very useful tool can become a profound aid in enjoying and understanding the word of God on Kindle. Kudos to Packard Technologies.I came across this in 2013 and it was the perfect solution for my needs. Everything is here, no lugging heavy books around. I have recommended this to many friends. I have had a few issues with losing my place, but I'm grateful to have this as a solution for my issue. To be completely honest, I have used Strong's much more after getting this Bible because of its simplicity of use. I would strongly recommend it to anyone.Having said that, it is quicker than a printed Bible and the advantage of having all you need for church on one small tablet is very great. But there should be a quick initial page with all the books of the Bible rather than having to search for them. Once you are in the book, the chapter and verse settings are really quick.Contains much study material. Strongs and Easton are the most useful books in this collection in my applications. No preacher or Bible student should be without them. I have them already on my PC Bible but this format is so portable and easy to use at a good price it can be used in a Bible Fellowship meeting as well as in the study.

Invaluable when travelling light or when listening to sermoans. Only down side is that my phone's screen is small and trying to navigate is tricky as fingers large and often navigate to wrong place. Probably would not be a problem on tablets or the newer larger smart phones.I have a query regarding the Dictionaries though, it would appear that they are not linked within the text and the user is required to exit the text, address the contents section and select a dictionary.Advice would be most welcome. I have developed digital Bible research tools and understand that the Kindle format is limiting, which makes producing research works like this for the Kindle difficult. Pros: I like it better than a previous KJV Bible with Strong's Numbers because the words are underlined with a link that opens in Strong's Concordance instead of the numbers after each word, which makes it hard to actually read the Bible. I also like having the dictionaries and the Nave's Topical Bible included. Cons: As other people have said, the navigation is not the greatest, but it is workable. JC 5.0 out of 5 stars I tried the sample but it won't go as far as bringing you to the Greek translation. After thinking about it for some time, I took the risk and bought it. It was amazing! So far, the links are working even the cross references when you go into the dictionaries. This speeds up the studying process exponentially.

It's hard to pretty much bring it with you when youre going outside. But with this kindle version, you can bring it just about anywhere. I thank God for this resource, it gives me more joy in digging deeper into God's word. I would really recommend it to anyone who owns a kindle and desires to study the Bible in a deeper level. Please try again later. David A. Burnet 3.0 out of 5 stars If you understand this and are happy with this organization, I think you'll be delighted. If you expect a study bible with links to all the resources from the bible itself you may be terribly disappointed. I expect the Product Description will be updated to better explain navigation, which is so important, so you'll more easily be able to understand whether or not this Kindle book is a good match for what you are looking for. -David Burnet, 30-September-2011Please try again later. Wes 2.0 out of 5 stars The Webster was just updated by Kindle. Navigation to specific words with both of those dictionaries is easy by typing in a desired word. This is slow and cumbersome. On the plus side he KJV link to Strong's and the Strong's Concordance is very good when searching from a KJV Bible verse. There is no link to the dictionaries. I am keeping it for the Strong's Dictionary and Strong's Concordance. I hope some day Kindle will update the dictionaries for easier word search as done recently for my previously purchased Webster's 1828. July 20, 2011Please try again later. Marvin C. Clapp 4.0 out of 5 stars They are solid, reliable, well-thought-of reference books. Furthermore, they are in the public domain, as far as I can tell. That means that they can probably be obtained for free. However, if you wish to navigate around any of these books you need a good index system.

Now imagine an interlinking multiple part index that covers all of these books: The King James Bible (red letter), Nave's Topical Bible, Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries, Strong's KJV Bible Concordance, Easton's Bible Dictionary, and Smith's Bible Dictionary. This is a gallant effort and the people who put this collection together have almost succeeded. This collection has one more thing to consider. It has to operate in every type of Kindle made. Among all of these Kindles there are a number of navigation systems. They are similar where possible but not identical in many parts. I have a Kindle with a keyboard and a 4-way controller. I will be addressing the difficulties that I found from that basis. I don't want anyone to think that I am complaining about the Ultimate Bible Study Suite. I am not. I recommend that the people who seem, even now, to be engaged in writing updates to the navigation continue working. Until most of the difficulties have been addressed, I do not feel that I can rate this work with 5 stars. First, the programmers need to read the reviews of their work. One person has already pointed that the name, Malachi, has been misspelled in the table of contents. Even though there has been at least one major upgrade since that was written, the misspelling is still there. Second, a number of people have mentioned that they would like to be able to go to a reference by just typing in an abbreviated book name, a chapter number, and a verse number. That will be difficult because it will require the programmers to enter a name, chapter, and verse in front of every verse in the entire Bible. From what I have seen of the other Kindle Bibles with similar navigational capabilities, this is necessary. If they do this, the programmers will have also addressed the problem of being able to easily tell what book and chapter of the Bible that you are in. It is currently difficult to find your location by just glancing at the Bible page in front of you.

copenhagenpools.com/contents//files/braeburn-model-5000-manual.pdf

I usually scroll to the beginning of the chapter to find the chapter number, then I press the back button once or twice to get to the index where I selected the passage. Of course, I have to re-select that Bible location to return there which is a nuisance. Thirdly, the Strong's Dictionary tells you the Greek or Hebrew work that you are looking up by transliterating the word into an English spelled equivalent. This is fine for quick identification of any word that you may be reading in the Bible at a specific time. If you want to go to a different word in the Strong's Greek or Hebrew Dictionaries, these and all other books may be accessed from the Strong's Dictionaries. Just push the 4-way controller to the right or the left and the other books tables of contents will pop up, one at a time. A fourth problem occurs here. If you want to look up some word in the Strong's Dictionaries other than one on the screen in front of you when you are in the KJV Bible, you must know the Greek or Hebrew word as it has been transliterated by them. When you attempt to search for the word, the job is made much more difficult by the fact that they have placed the words in the index according to the Greek or Hebrew spelling, and not according to the transliterated English word that they are being displayed in. You can't look them up in alphabetical order unless you know the Greek and Hebrew alphabets and know how the work is spelled in that alphabet. I suggest that they just list the indexes of those two dictionaries by Strong's number and let us find out the number elsewhere. I have a number of Bible reference books in my Kindle other than this one and many of them give me words in the original language or a transliteration and the corresponding Strong's number. Most people without that kind of reference book probably won't be using these indexes anyway and the numbers would certainly be a big advantage for those of us who do have Kindle books like these.

That covers the difficulties that I have been able to find so far. Compared to the immensity of the task, these things are minor. I love the way that I can easily get around my Ultimate Bible Study Suite. While you are navigating, be sure to go to the bottom of the alphabetical index for the Easton's Bible Dictionary. There is a lot of useful data there. Don't miss it. Easton's Bible Dictionary was written for British people so the monetary amounts are in British units. If you want American units, go to Smith's Dictionary. I would like to see some way that I could gain access to the concordance without finding a specific word in the Bible first but since there seems to be no provision for that, I find that I can get to any word indirectly by entering the word or a phrase that will enable me to find the word in the Old or New Testament by the standard Kindle find function. I go to an appropriate verse, find the word, look it up in the Strong's Dictionary. This always gives me the opportunity to jump to the Strong's Concordance. Another capability is the ability to jump from book to book in order. While displaying a KJV page with no cursor on the screen, press the left or right direction on the 4-way controller and you will jump to the next or previous book of the Bible with the appropriate chapter numbers displayed to select. Each time that you continue to press the left or right control you will move another Bible book in that direction. Overall, the Ultimate Bible Study Suite, in my opinion, is an excellent buy. Spend some time learning to use it. There are no instructions provided. You will find that most of the navigation is logically linked with the normal Kindle navigation capabilities. I just pray that their programmers will continue to work with the difficulties, some of which I have pointed out. Please try again later. Ed Jansen 5.0 out of 5 stars What I like most about it is gives a quick and easy access to Strong's Concordance.

Even though we don't study with KJV, I follow along and if I want to know what the word is in the original language, I merely click on the word and it not only gives me the Greek word and definition, but easily links me to each use of that word in the Scriptures. I don't think it can be used for in-depth word studies, but it sure is great when you're on the spot. I remember my old Strong's Concordance. It must have weighed 20 pounds and took up half my desk. This is great! I'm grateful to be living in this digital age when study is so much easier than when I was in school. Father Ed Jansen St. Michael Old Catholic Mission Glen Burnie MD 21061Please try again later. S Jedidiah 5.0 out of 5 stars The Hebrew or Greek is linked to almost every word right in the scripture reading. I just click on the arrow beside the word and go to the Strongs entry for that word with tie definition and more at that one touch. To return to the scripture I click the back button. To go to another scripture you must return to the table of contents (that's the only way I have found) to pick your new location. It is still fairly easy to do. I don't use the other features very often, but they are simple to get to and use. I am very pleased with this purchase and use it almost every day. When you can so easily look up the original meaning of a word in the scriptures as you read, you see new life in those words. Please try again later.
