D-Link Wireless N 300 products use Intelligent Antenna technology to transmit multiple streams of data which enables you to receive wireless signals in the farthest corners of your home. Not only does the D-Link Wireless N 300 technology extend your wireless range, it also works with previous-generation wireless devices. The DIR-615 also includes QoS (Quality of Service) Prioritization Technology that analyzes and separates multiple data streams based on sensitivity to delay, enabling multiple applications to stream smoothly across your network. The D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N 300 router (see larger image). Rear view of 4 Fast Ethernet ports (see larger image). Our Setup Wizard walks you step by step through the installation process to configure your Internet connection, wireless network settings and security, and everything else you need to get your network up and running so that you don't have to be a networking expert to get it set up. Easy to Secure The DIR-615 supports the latest wireless security features to help prevent unauthorized access, be it from over a wireless network or from the Internet. Support for WPA and WPA2 standards ensure that you will be able to use the best possible encryption, regardless of your client devices. In addition, the Wireless N 300 Router utilizes dual active firewalls (SPI and NAT) to prevent potential attacks from across the Internet.

Delivering great wireless performance, network security and coverage, the D-Link Wireless N 300 Router (DIR-615) is ideal for upgrading your existing wireless home network. Benefits of a Wireless N 300 Router This Wireless N 300 Router uses powerful 802.11n technology with multiple intelligent antennas to maximize the speed and range of your wireless signal to significantly outperform previous-generation Wireless G MIMO devices. The antennas on the Wireless N 300 Router make use of your home's environment by bouncing multiple wireless signals off walls and ceilings to work around obstructions and help eliminate dead spots. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate. Environmental factors will adversely affect wireless signal range. Wireless range and speed rates are D-Link RELATIVE performance measurements based on the wireless range and speed rates of a standard Wireless G product from D-Link. Maximum throughput based on D-Link Wireless N devices. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. DocSalvager 5.0 out of 5 stars My setup uses two WiFi routers. I choose to rent that as lightning keeps taking the gateway router out so I can get it replaced in an hour by going to the Comcast store. As a storm approaches, I usually unplug the DLink-to-Comcast cable. DHCP (automatic assignment of IP addresses) is enabled on both which creates two networks. The Comcast network uses the 10.0.0.1-255 range and the DLink uses the 192.168.1.1-255 range. That puts my primary computers and the printer, which are attached to the DLink, behind two NAT (Network Address Translation) routers.

Tablets and Chromecast normally attach by WiFi to the Comcast network but can be connected to the DLink if needed, such as to print something. Works very well.I only have 4 wireless devices and use mostly the ethernet for all my other devices. When I first got the router I flashed the firmware to the latest version, then about 4 months later certain devices just randomly would not be able to wirelessly connect to the network. Not a big deal, until it started happening to the wired network devices as well. I've replaced this router with a netgear nighthawk router on sale. I never had issues with dlink routers in the past (this is my 4th dlink router, I've been using only dlink routers for over 15 years), and I wish this one would just work. After I bought DIR-615 I finally enjoyed the wifi router for the first time in my life. Many people are complaining that this router is not good but believe me it is the best. Before I bought this one I checked it on CNET website and they rated it in top 5 category and When I placed the order on the amazon without reading people's review it was too late to cancel to order after I seen too many folks have written negative review about it but thanks GOD I didn't cancel the order it is the best router I ever found. I'm living in a 2 room house and it is working like charm. Those who want a router for long range should get D-LINK XTREME. Setting up router is very easy. You do not need to install software for it. When you receive your router first of all you need to check if the wifi of your laptop or desktop is on, after that plug in the cable of your dsl modem in port 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 any of them you will see the signal of dlink, Connect your computer to that signal. It will ask you that this router is new if you want to configure press yes or no.

If you press no your wifi connection will not be a secure connection and every body will be able to use your internet connection via router, if you press yes it will ask you for the serial number of the router. On the bottom of the router you can find that serial just enter the serial and press yes. And then keep click yes whatever message appear on your pc. There are two serials on the bottom of the router one is for mac (apple computer) and other one is for your pc. So if you want your connection to be secured use that serial or if you like your connection to be shared by your neighbors don't enter the serial and your connection will be unsecured and every will be able to use your internet. Stay away from from linksys or you will regret your purchase. The G was very good, and I'd been happy with it, so I had no qualms about going with D-Link for a new router. That was a mistake. The router has speed issues. When I connect directly to my cable modem, I can get speeds approaching what is advertised by my ISP. When I insert the DIR-615 between my computer and the modem, things slow down dramatically. It runs between 25-35 of the advertised speed. The router has stability issues. We get constant connection resets while web surfing. There are many pauses when trying to watch a streaming video. My VPN for work has many timeouts. I blamed my ISP for a long time, until I started doing some serious testing. I did contact D-Link tech support, and they offered some suggestions, but nothing seemed to help. On my own, I discovered that if I disconnect all the wireless devices in the house and just use one laptop, I can get up to 75 of regular speed. When more than three devices are connected, the performance drops back down to unacceptable. We have 12 wi-fi devices, if everyone is home at once. I tested a comparable Netgear router against this one, and the Netgear was far superior. Streaming videos were flawless, and the connection timeouts disappeared.

These results were duplicated by a friend who also has this D-Link router. D-Link makes some fine products, but this is not one of them. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more on the Netgear N300. Or, treat yourself and get the N600. You deserve it.I had a router at the corner of my house which gave weak signals to the other end of my house. After I set-up this router along with dd-wrt, I got another access point and was able to connect to the internet (as a repeater). Apparently, it even boosted the signal of my primary router too which I am not complaining, but am amazed. NOTE: This only applies if you install dd-wrt to your router. I did not use the stock firmware (the firmware it came with) so I cannot review that aspect of the router. However, I can confirm that the stock firmware was not updated since 2010.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I must say the diff in speed was welcomed but was also to be expected. The only fault I can find with the router is that it seems un-necessarily complicated to open ports required for specific programs that require it. The manual that comes with it was of no help. So,I went to D-links's webpage and tried to look it up there. Their help files show a previous firmware with totally different setup screens. A websearch finally got me in the right direction. Apart from the poor documentation, it works as advertised- fast, with good coverage.Sorry, we failed to record your vote.

Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Flashed with lasted version of the open source firmware and now use it has a repeater bridge to my main wireless router (DIR-655). It now extended my primary wireless bubble completely transparently. My wireless devices roam from 1 router to the other seamlessly depending on which one has better signal. It also enable the wired devices on the secondary router to link the primary, wirelessely!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Not compatible with OpenWRT, DD-WRT has a compatible firmware but the random reboots also happen with this firmware (tried latest also (07-24-2013-r22118). Think twice before buying this model. I will try to return it using the warranty of the manufacturer.Sorry, we failed to record your vote.
