I found manuals in abundance for the 2193, which looks very much like mine, including the controls. Mine has a little freezer compartment, which may be the difference. I can't find a user's manual or a service manual specifically for the 2202. Scamp has a parts list on the website, so if I need to order a 12V heating element (what I suspect it needs), I can probably get the right one. You might notice that, under refrigerators, we have parts lists for several models, and an Installation and Operating manual for the 2191 and 2193.So I'm good to go (until something does quit). They tend to put out a manual that covers multiple models. The parts manual on the sites probably is all they have specific to RM 2202. We generally recommend a 24hr cool down period on all the RV fridges prior to loading and leaving for a trip. I usually go over to storage the day before and fire the fridge up. I've had many gas fridges and this was the first I've seen without front-facing controls; it can only be used in RVs that have a rear access door to the refrigerator compartment, and the vast majority of older RVs do not have this. Unfortunately this seller does not indicate this feature anywhere on their Amazon page, as well as a lack of photos that would have indicated where the controls are located, so I was clueless when I purchased it. Fortunately the seller immediately issued a return slip and refund when I pointed this out, but it would be best if they would make the effort to inform us prior to purchase so we don't waste time as now I have to start over and order another refrigerator.It really does seem to be 99 identical, so fit was no problem. I had some trouble installing it, as I faced an electrical gremlin that I had never seen before in my 60 years (expected 12.8 volts but no current), but it was not the refer's problem, and I got past that. It cools effectively on propane, 120 AC and 12.8v dc--takes a while, but that is the nature of this type of refrigerator. On propane gas, it is astonishingly efficient, by my measure it will run continuously for almost a month on 5 gallons of propane. Runs about 45 degrees below ambient, again, typical for this type of unit. This may not be adequate if you are driving along in unremitting 100 degree weather with short, warm nights (e.g. summer desert camping, or Central Florida in July) Note that it comes without a decorative door panel, you have to buy that separately (overpriced), or simply fashion one out of wood or metal or plastic, trivially easy job. Or just forgo it entirely. I just reused the panel from the old refer, although I may eventually make a nicer one out of wood. My prior version of this refer lasted 16 years, so if this one goes that long, it is likely to outlive me.Now, it keeps everything cold on propane. In fact, I started with the middle setting on propane but had to back if off.
I've never had an RV frig with a 12 volt capability before. I like this a lot. 'Used to turn off the frig at gas stations, then re-lite. And some RV's wouldn't stay lit while traveling very well. This is so much easier. 'Just have to remember to shut it off if I stop for a meal or any other long stop. There is only one thing I can find fault with.My refrigerator was damaged in shipping by FedEx. I filed a claim, they denied it and Amazon was out of stock and offered to take it back and pay the shipping. A week later, Amazon got another one in stock and after a very pleasant conversation with a CS rep, Amazon shipped me a brand new one, in perfect condition, which arrived (much to my surprise) at 10 am the very next morning delivered by UPS. Amazon sent a UPS tag to return the damaged unit. FedEx vs. UPS, you be the judge. The refrigerator is very well made, it's easy to install and works very well. It is easy to switch from one power source to another after the propane line is evacuated of air. The controls are accessed from outside through the lower vent panel. Mine was a new installation which required cutting vent holes in the outside wall of my trailer and building a cabinet to hold the refrigerator. This was the hardest part and requires some carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills. If you are just replacing an existing unit, the installation should be very straightforward. If you are replacing an icebox, you will need the above mentioned skills. It is surprising just how much food it holds. Turning it all the way up will freeze some of the items. Not having shelves in the door is not a big deal. This unit has.2 cubic feet more space than the leading competitor (about the size of a 6 pack), and worth the extra money. The only complaint I have is that it stops working (gets warm inside) when the outside air temp drops below freezing. I keep a thermometer inside and when the temp outside was 20 degrees it was 50 degrees inside the refrigerator.

This is because of the way that this refrigerator (and all RV refrigerators) work. They turn heat into cold and when it is really cold outside and the rear cooling unit, which is exposed to the outside air, gets cold it can not develop enough heat. This is only a problem if you camp in the winter. I discussed this issue with Dometic CS. Since this issue is common to all RV refrigerators I did not deduct a star from the rating. The only issue is that the propane flame gets blown out by high winds. Update January 2018 After 5 years of dependable service, it stopped working. I removed the unit from the cabinet and performed a service by cleaning the burner and chimney. It came back to life. I suggest you do the same on yours but don't wait till it stops working. Buy a chimney brush before you need it.The door are absolutely not as the picture. Wast my time ! Ok to pay less for a refurbished broken like 30-40 the price but not paying like a new.Fridge was damaged in shipping though. Talked to Canada Direct they were very helpful.
