The thermoblock in this unit is actually a 3-way valve, of which two positions route water from the boiler directly to the wand. The 3rd position (UP) routes hot water (but not steam) from the boiler to the group head. Try holding the switch in the UP position by hand when making coffee. If the machine still pushes water through the wand then you will have to replace the switch inside the machine that is activated by the rocker, or the valve it operates. One similar product owner had some success taking the seal down to an auto parts store to find one like it. If it's an o-ring there are many sources online. They would use the inner diameter and the thickness as the spec. If it's just a leak one user just descaled and cleaned everything.SIDE) the RED light should turn on, showing that the machine is powered. It's about 8 years old. It has a leak from the bottom of the pressure vessel, where a water supply tube connects. While it does not look hard to fix it, I cannot figure out how to take the related parts apart to repair it. There was a cotter pin that I thought was holding everything together, so I removed it, but I still cannot budge the clear plastic tube that connects the output of the pump to the input of the pressure vessel. Maybe there's some other operation I need to perform.

Pulling gently (and in frustration, not so gently) is not working. Aside from the leaking it's a great unit, but now losing too much poundage and no longer really producing flavorful coffee.so I got a Krups as a replacement but it's just not the same. To get around the itty-bitty file restriction of this website (perfectly understandable, but still quite a barrier) here's information about the unit and photos of where I am trying to make this repair happen: Thank you, Graham Leach Your photo isn't clear enough to discern how the plastic water line is retained. I expect that there is a snap ring or something similar holding it in place. If the boiler can be disassembled, the line may press in towards the boiler and be removed through a larger pathway into the boiler. Try a Google search for a manual or clues. Or try completely disassembling it.. A1, La Cimbali M32 Grinder: Azkoyen Capriccio, Major Vac Pot: 40s era Silex Drip: Msl. Com. brewers Roaster: gave it a try, decided no You can get a LARGE on screen image for only a few K of bites when properly sized. Set your resizing program to 72 dpi and something like 5 x 7 inches, 8 x 10 if it will still fit and don't forget to compress the image for the web. If you can clearly see the attachment fitting and the end of the tubing and nothing is holding the tub but you still can't remove it, it will need to be cut off. Slit the tubing along one side of the tub to give it room to come off the fitting, do not cut it off of the fitting leaving the end on your fitting, that would be much harder to remove. Good luck. This picture started at 4.66 meg and was resized and compressed to 32.6 K (Click for larger image) The only limitation is the 75 KB file size. There have been a number of threads about this and a simple Google search would take you to myraid websites that will resize an image for you or one of the many (free and otherwise) image editing programs out there. For instance, below is a picture resized to to 800x740.
And it would be easy enough to resize to an even larger picture if you needed to. (Click for larger image) Of course if the original picture had been cropped before compression, there wouldn't be any obvious loss of sharpness. (Click for larger image) The high pressure hose and fitting were destroyed in the process. I took a look at the inside of the boiler and noticed that there was significant pitting and scale - not terminal, but not far from terminal either, so I thoroughly de-scaled the boiler using an overnight bath of vinegar at 100 strength, which dissolved all of the mineral deposits. I then visited a couple of specialist GERMAN sites to buy new silicone gaskets to rebuild the boiler as well as a new high pressure hose and retaining clip. I also ordered a few other bits and bobs that might be useful in the future. All told I spent about EUR50.00. At minimum I could probably have gotten the minimum parts to do this job for about EUR10.00 The items are on the way from GERMANY to HONG KONG, so once I get them and put the machine back together I'll post an update.Much obliged! Graham Leach ---- Vac Pot: Hario, 2 Cory pots, 1 Cory. Drip: Behmor Brazen, Bunn A10 mod.Additionally, a brewhead gasket should be replaced every one or two years and the machine should be descaled at least once a year. The frequency of both depends on how often the machine is used and how hard the water is in regards to descaling. For the moment, for those who want to know how the unit is held together, here's the photo On the LEFT of the photo are the broken parts (brass collar, drilled out, O-RING cooked out) In the MIDDLE is what the high pressure hose should look like (with brass collar intact) On the RIGHT of the photo is the O-RING and COTTER PIN used to hold the assembly together through a 2-sided notch in the boiler bottom Best Regards, Graham Leach ---- (Click for larger image) No SEO style postings will be tolerated.

Eva L Uator 5.0 out of 5 stars Ground coffee through machine is amazing. My experience with this machine has been excellent and its nice to have the option to use Nespresso capsules in a pinch if desired. It reliably made me one or two Americanos nearly every day for eighteen months, so it paid for itself versus what a coffee shop would charge. Unfortunately it conked out two days ago. It still lights up, but the heater no longer works. If you're going to buy this, I suggest springing for the extended warranty. I wish I had done so.:(Despite being packed very well, the plastic water tank was cracked and broken in several places in the box. Since I am just past the return window, I decided to order the replacement water tank anyway. Dualit does not make this water tank replacement any longer and is out of stock everywhere.
So please, before buying this piece of equipment, understand if this item breaks, the entire machine is instantly worthless.I bought in 2014 and it's only just starting to die 5 years later. We could get it fixed (smells like electrical is overheating). We abuse this thing though. We NEVER cleaned the components--only the tray and occasionally the grounds holder. We have used it EVERY DAY for 5 years, frequently 2x or more a day. We honestly never really used the milk frother. The body still looks good with hardly any scratches or dents after 5 years. I am extremely clumsy--that says a lot. We nearly only used the 2-cup espresso insert with espresso grinds. However, we could bring home coffee cups from hotel rooms and use them too. The water tank hardly accumulated any calcification and was easy to give a quick clean with a bottle brush. After 5 years of constant use, the painted labels did rub off partially. It brews VERY quickly. Guests LOVE to get a cup when they visit--they skip Starbucks on the way over because this is yummy. It felt complicated at first but we set up the grinds at night so all we had to do was turn it on then brew in the morning. We decided to invest in a nicer espresso machine because the cheap ones died after 2-3 years and it didn't taste that fantastic. It was worth it to get much more enjoyable brew for twice as long. Also, I love sweet coffee. But when I cut back, a strong, single cup is so rich and creamy that even I can drink it down without sugar. We're looking to purchase a new one and will review options, but will probably repurchase this so that we have the spare parts. It would only be a little less to fix it--so we'd rather have spare parts.I've had several cups now from my new Dualit and I've been impressed, that's the espresso I've been looking for, and did I mention hot as well?. Easy to use after getting through the instructions. I used the grinds and the pods, both were very good.
I think the grinds were a little richer with a nice head, but the pods are very convenient and easier to clean up. Thank you Dualit for an inexpensive machine that produces a very good espresso. Now I hope it doesn't break on me:(I was already used to an espresso maker with loose ground coffee but since this machine also takes nespresso compatible capsules, a whole new range of coffee flavors opened up. Capsules give more plastic waste but they're very convenient. It takes a little tweaking to find the proper amount of extraction for different kinds of capsules, but if you don't mind a big taste testing, you are in for a treat. Most capsules are pre-perforated so they will open up as soon as the water pressure is high enough; some brands require a little help before you put them in the machine by punching a small hole in the side opposite the foil seal.In order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading.

Discover which toaster features really matter, and the hidden issues you might not think to check, such as if it can fit different bread types. Learn More It’s a very handsome appliance, perfect in a minimalist kitchen and economical for someone living on their own. So, it’s almost surprising to pick it up and discover it weighs only around 1.5kg. I tested the striking all-black version, which has glossy plastic sides and a textured front with a dotted pattern. However, all the logos are embossed, meaning none of them really stand out unless you look at it closely. Both buttons light up red when pressed. It has a generous 90cm cable, which measures nearly 75cm from the back of the toaster, allowing for easy placement. Should you find it too long, there are hooks for cord storage on the underside of the toaster. Dualit cautions that the thickest slice the toaster will fit is 2.8cm. In addition to a general toasting guide and safety tips, there’s a table with suggestions of which browning setting to use. Still, taking level 5 as a starting point may be a little extreme and I’d recommend a lower setting to familiarise yourself with this toaster. The toaster was quite fast, delivering sufficiently browned bread in around 2mins 10secs. The next test slices at setting 3 were sufficiently browned, taking just under two minutes.
The reheating process can brown the toast a bit further, so you may need to keep that in mind if your toast is already quite dark. I didn’t experience any hotspots or blank patches that are a sign of uneven toasting. To extract the crumpets after toasting, I had to push up the lever further, but this was easy enough and I didn’t need to resort to tongs to pull out the crumpets.
