The other channels are how they are rated normally. That should help you understand what I mean. You can either bridge both or either or. You could actually think of it in terms of left and right too (depending on how the amp lets you bridge).Web Push Notifications by iA1. Also if you have the amp at full gain try dropping it a little back if getting a better ground doesnt helpThis amp is only intended for separates and lowend subs with an RMS of 80 to 150 wattsAnswer questions, earn points and help others. If transaction was completed on CACO, please use iTrader to record feedback.I ran this amp for a few months bridged into my old ass MB Quarts and it sounded wonderful. The old speakers tend to show an amps flaws very well. This amp seemed to have none. Please enter your desired user name, your email address and other required details in the form below.Note that passwords are case-sensitive. I got right around 48W RMS into 4 ohms AT APPROX. 12.5V WITHOUT ANY clipping at all on the scope. I would say this amp would do above its rated at 14V. I ran an EA3532 for a while.Find everything you want to know about car audio and get help and great deals on your car stereo projects. Eclipse 3640 4ch Amplifier Fujitsu Ten 51 Surround 2 is written based on a hands-on complete teardown of the specific automobile model. Illustrated steps, tools. Please read through this manual for correct operation. Eclipse will not be held liable for damages I have an Eclipse 3640 power amp and need the schematic. Is it just the fact that Eclipse under-rate their power, or would these other amps in fact give me more bass from my sub. Is the Eclipse capable. If I am not entirely happy with the Eclipse I have the opportunity to take it back and try another amp.Dont get me wrong, it has improved the frontstage considerably, but i am wondering if i could get more bass out of another amp? How are you running it, as a 3 channel though some fronts and a Sub, in this case the amp will struggle a bit with 250 RMS but it will still sound very impressive and at least you have no chance or blowing the sub or burning the Voice Coil. Underpowering a speaker will never ever kill a speaker. Abuse will. This means that if you overpower a speaker and do not allow it to cool down, the voice coils more than likely will not dissipate this excessive heat. If you clip the outputs of the amp due to improper gain control setttings or bass boost, this too will fry the voice coils. But if you underpower a speaker and do not clip the output of the amp, it will run just fine. The Eclipse is an amazing amplifier, underrated to say the least. I would combine some of the above advice. I would continue to use this amp as it is set up now and eventually buy myself another amp dedicated to run the sub or subs (future expansion maybe).

This amp can then be used to power the front and rear speakers and do a stellar job doing it. Wattage ratings need to be taken with a grain of salt. If one amp makes 50w x 4 and another makes 60w x 4 I would bet that you would be hard pressed to hear a difference and a meter woule be hard pressed to find a substantial (meaning noticeable to you) difference in SPL.If you clip the outputs of the amp due to improper gain control setttings or bass boost, this too will fry the voice coils. Bass has improved, but obviously bridging 2 channels from any 4 channel amp is never going to power the sub at its full potential like a monoblock will. After really cranking it the other night i could really notice that the bass from the sub was much clearer, less laggy Ohms law is what this is all about. With a higher voltage going into the amp, the amp is able to make more power. Some amps list their rated power at 12 volts, other's at 14.4 or 13.8 or 11.579044366 volts. Basically any amp that makes it's rated power at 12 volts is going to do a great job for you. An amp that is rated at 14.4 volts will make it's rated power only if it's given 14.

4 volts, it will make less power as the voltage drops below that level. This could be due to the headlights being on, air conditioning or usually a large amount of draw from a high power stereo. I've seen others made in China. There are plenty of good amps made in China. I was hoping that was the case with Eclipse and it wasn't another one of those company stories where they're made in the USA then they get bought out or restructured and the quality goes does when it's moved overseas.
