I should have checked these screws before installing the carb.it was totally unexpected. When turning the screw to within 1 turn of the stop, the screw was snug, but the carb was out of tune. It's all about quality and I'm very disappointed with Edelbrock's quality control and Amazon.com's quality control WRT inspecting their packages.It replaced a stock Rochester that was having problems due to the computer (ECM) failing. Overall, it works great. More HP and higher revs, starts better, honestly the engine runs better then it ever has.

I cannot comment on the Miles Per Gallon thoughI checked the boxes through amazon that this was under compatible for my 396; wrong.
