However, I phoned Horizon Motorsport today to get a quote for servicing and whilst I was on to them I asked about what's involved in changing the light. They looked it up in some Lotus documentation (presumably the workshop manual) and said Lotus recommend 0.8 hours to do the job and the clam does not need to come off. Also, if indeed the clam stays on for this, I would like to get hold of the manual and have a go at this myself. On an Elise maybe as the plastic grille unclips. I know cos mine was delivered with a broken one so i had to fix it. You can't remove the bracket without taking the clam off but if you look there are 2 screws facing towards the front of the car which allow you to partially dismanlte and remove the light from the bracket. You could do it yourself, or I should be in on sun if you want a hand. This allows you to pull the lot out and disconnect the light. For some reason the bracket that came on the light was different to mine so I undid the blue screws and refitted the light unit to my original bracket. I'm guessing that I was given an elise part and that on the 111R it fixes using the red bolt which has a nut on the back. If they have changed the design to this other bracket then I doubt you'll be able to get your hand around to hold the nut to undo the bolt.
