Plus, FastFix blade changes save time and keep your work flow smooth. Quick, Controlled Plunge-Cutting Action Able to handle the same cuts as table saws, sliding miter saws, radial arm saws, and panel saws, the Festool TS 55 EQ is ideal for a broad range of applications. Its plunge action ensures precision when working with a variety of wood surfaces, including flooring. The saw is designed to allow cut placement anywhere on the cut line for straight cuts and cut outs with clean edges. And for improved accuracy and reduced waste, the TS 55 EQ makes each cut right on the edge of the scribe line, even on bevel cuts. Plus, it makes depth adjustment simple by allowing you to expose only the part of the blade necessary for a given cut. Clean Finishes with Guide Rail and Splinterguard Built to work with Festool guide rails, the TS 55 EQ makes it easy to set up for perfectly straight cuts.
Guide rail guidance also allows you to use limit stops to cut identical pieces. The saw comes with a versatile 55-inch guide rail. In addition, an integral guide-rail splinterguard and a second, detachable off-cut side splinterguard work to eliminate tear out on both sides of the saw's cut line. A cut line that's clean and splinter-free on both sides of the blade means you only need to make one pass with the saw, which saves you time. It also means you waste less material, which saves you money. Spring-Loaded Riving Knife Reduces Kickback The TS 55 EQ features a spring-loaded riving knife (splitter) that retracts into the housing during plunge cuts. The riving knife keeps the cut kerf open, so the material you are working with won't pinch the saw blade. This reduces the chance of kickback, making the saw safer and ensuring complete control over each cut. FastFix Blade Changing System Saves Time When it's time to switch out the blade on your TS 55 EQ, the FastFix system makes the change fast, easy, and intuitive. When this system is engaged, the saw's power switch and arbor are locked simultaneously, so you don't have to worry about accidental start-ups. In addition, the saw is locked into a position that facilitates easy arbor bolt removal, so you can get at the blade quickly. Robust Design Includes MMC Electronics and Triple Motor Bearing Different applications place different demands on your tools, and the TS 55 EQ offers variable speed control from 2,000 to 5,200 rpm for equally good results when working with a variety of materials. With its constant speed monitoring, the saw is able to maintain consistent blade speeds under heavy loads, which produces clean, consistent results. And its electronic system includes thermal and current protection, extending the life of the saw. This saw's robust construction with a triple motor bearing also delivers increased stability, smooth performance, and reduced noise levels--all of which combine to help reduce user fatigue.
In addition, this plunge-cut saw features a Plug-It power cord. This interchangeable cord design allows you to quickly switch between Festool tools without changing your entire setup. Integrated Dust Control Improves Work Environment The dependable TS 55 EQ also offers a swiveling dust port that directs dust away from you and your work surface, improving safety and minimizing cleanup time on the job site. This integrated port accepts multiple hose sizes, and it can be used with a Festool CT dust extractor. The Festool TS 55 EQ Plunge Cut Circular Saw is backed by a three-year limited warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee. What's in the Box Festool TS 55 EQ Plunge Cut Circular Saw, 55-inch (1,400-millimeter) guide rail, 48-tooth carbide blade, limit stop, Plug-it power cord, splinterguard, and Systainer storage case. Why struggle with cutting large pieces like plywood with traditional stationary equipment. Take the tool to the work with the TS saw and guide rail system. TS saws allow you to make rip cuts and cross-cuts in sheet goods quickly and easily without having to maneuver material through a stationary machine. Make angled, beveled, and compound cuts at virtually any angle with the highest level of precision while providing a perfect edge. The TS 55 has redefined the standards for circular saws. A host of refinements were incorporated to create a saw that is lighter, easier to handle, and more accurate than traditional saws. You get almost 2 inches of cutting capacity when used with the guide rail and the 55 mm cutting depth. The plunge action allows you to make precision cut-outs on wood surfaces and flooring. When used with included Festool guide rails, you have ultimate control over the TS saw for perfectly straight cuts. Add the replaceable splinterguard, and a splinter-free cut is achievable on both sides of the blade. Set the guide rail to your marks and know that you will cut right on the line, regardless of the angle every time.
Plunge-cutting action with simple depth adjustment allows you to expose only the part of the blade necessary for the cut. The plunge action allows cut placement anywhere on the cut line for straight cuts or cut-outs into material. Spring-loaded riving knife (splitter) retracts into the housing during plunge-cuts. The riving knife keeps the cut kerf open so that the material does not pinch the blade. This reduces the chance of kickback. Variable speed allows you to match the speed of the saw to the material. The electronics also maintain a consistent speed under load, improving cut performance and protecting the saw’s motor from thermal and current overload. Entrepreneur 5.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately it is really hard for me to handle large sheet goods. Even with help I still have problems with getting the cuts accurate on the table saw. Then came the Festool. I could never do that on my table saw with those sheet goods. As far as blade life goes I have chopped up 10 sheets so far without a sign of the blade slowing down. All of this in the same day. I could never have done all that before. It amazes me at how much time I have gained using this track saw. It is the perfect compliment to any wood shop that uses lots of sheet goods (like me). It's not a tool however that will replace a table saw in my opinion. You could live your life in the wood shop without one but after having actually used one, I would never go back the other way.I was in the market for a larger table saw. I have a DeWalt DW745 portable table saw for all my smaller cuts, but I needed a way to rip the 4X8 sheet of MDF down to smaller pieces without throwing out my back or shoulders.
One of my hobbies is car audio and I build quite a few subwoofer enclosures, kick panels, speaker rings and other small stuff. I needed a machine that would cut through MDF accurately and effortlessly, have decent dust collection, be somewhat portable, and user friendly. The TS55 fit all those requirements and more. I bought this fine machine through amazon and received it in a few days. I also bought 2 of the 5 ft tracks, and the Festool bars to connect the tracks together. I also purchased the Festool Parallel Bars so I could make repetitive cuts accurately. I now can cut down sheet goods with hardly any effort. Who wants's to lift and carry heavy sheet goods and risk hurting yourself. I no longer have to maneauver a 4X8 sheet of MDF to a table saw and TRY to cut it straight. Instead of lifting the heavy MDF, I now slide this track saw on top of the MDF, an make my cut in less then 10 seconds. I also purchased the Bosch hose which connects to the dust port on the Festool TS55. I can collect about 95 of the dust right now. The blade that comes on this Festool TS55 is very nice and makes some superb glue ready cuts that I've only seen using a higher end cabinet saw with an expensive saw blade. My cuts are now much better and that means that my enclosures will be solid and virtually air leak free once I put down a bead of TiteBond Ultimate woodglue on my joints. Do yourself a favor and check out this machine. If you do any sort of woodworking, carpentry, finishwork, remodeling, this machine might just save you some time, be lighter, and safer to use then a clumsy job site saw. I recommend that you buy an isocket outlet device so that when you turn on your Festool, your shop vac turns on automatically.Very straight and splinter free cuts. When using this saw, I don't have to where a respirator or ear plugs (I always wear safety glasses but it is a little overkill when using this saw). Also, buy a Festool dust collector along with the TS55.
It makes cleanup a lot easier. I know plunking down this much cash hurts but if you are serious about woodworking, this tool will be one of your best investments!I was a bit reluctant given the high price for which you could easily buy a decent entry level table saw. However, I dreaded dealing with 4x8 sheets on my table saw as they are awkward as well as heavy. This saw fits the bill. I bought both 5' and 8' track which I think are a must have if you want to get a finish cut in one pass. The saw is light and sleek and glides on the track. The tracks are great too. They grip well even when I have some saw dust on the plywood. I used Dewalt clamps to hold the 8' track in place but I generally don't use them for smaller cuts using 5' tack. Buy this combo and you won't regret it. Ask your question here. Provide a clear and comprehensive description of the issue and your question. The secret of course, is the use of a Festool TS 55 or TS 75 EQ circular saw and a Festool Precision Guide Rail. The unique Festool guide rail system is designed for use with Festool products, so adapters are unnecessary. Two soft, grippy, cushion strips underneath the guide rail are strategically located to prevent slippage and splintering. Upon first use, a hard rubber edge strip is trimmed back by the tool so that it precisely indicates the cut line for future work without calculations for base plate offset. Made in Germany. I bought the clamps when I bought the saw and str8 edge. The clamps are still in the package. I plopped the guide down, aligned the marks with the edge, and ripped away. The guide never moved, I made a total of 15 ripping cuts and not a single piece was less than perfect. I had to resort to a separate straight edge to get them properly aligned. I would recommend them, but be sure check the alignment after assembly. They have far exceeded my expectations.
