I like that you can choose to have the toy bar on or off, depending on the baby's mood and the time of the day. It can be used for playtime or relaxing time. The vibrate function is great and the baby loves it. It bounces easily with the baby's kicking motions. The toy bar is entertaining whether it is switched on or not. When it's on it plays lights and music, and when it's off there are fun dangling toys to play with. I used the bar less when he was really little, and more now that he is big enough to reach out and grab the toys. This bouncer is his favorite seat in the house, and it's convenient for me because I can move it throughout the house as needed. I bring it in the bathroom when I am showering and getting ready, and bring it in the kitchen when I am cooking and cleaning. The only con that I can think of is that after a few months of use, the metal bars that support the bouncer are a little bent so the chair isn't completely level. It leans slightly to one side, but it is only noticeable when the baby isn't sitting in it. Once he sits in it, his weight evens it out. I would still recommend it. She immediatly wanted no other bouncer than this one-- So we went online and ordered it-- She really loves the moving jungle animals and that fact that she can make it work herself-- I'd recommend this to anyone just because it really seems to be fun for babies.
The only downside i think is that-- she seemed to get overstimulated quickly at first because there is so much to take in--:) and now her only complaint is that the bird won't fly into her mouth. He would sit and play in it, sleep in it, eat in it. We didn't go anywhere without it. We bought a second one to keep at my parent's house. The batteries last a long time. The vibration will soothe them if they are cranky and put them to sleep if they are tired a major plus. I think the entertainment arch is really wonderful. The music is playful but not annoying. You can put the sounds on a rotating cycle or move the switch to have them activated by movement of the toys hanging below. Wonderful for teaching cause and effect for the baby. It is also good for babies who may have reflux. Keeps them at an angle after eating. When they get a bit older they can bounce themselves. My son loved kicking his legs and bouncing in it. A must have or a wonderful gift! She started out in a much plainer bouncer with a couple of rattle toys dangling, and she prefers that one over this anyway. Perhaps if she had this one first it would be a different story. But don't buy this in the hopes it's some kind of magic seat that will occupy baby as long as you need it to.
Also the vibrate feature was messed up on my model, it sounded like a lawn mower with something loose rattling around in there, so we never used that. Everything else worked great though. The other one had good reviews too, seemed actually more comfortable, but the toys were only soft toys so I wasn't sure how much our daughter would be entertained by them. This one is a nice bouncer. Cute too. The waterfall stopped working (the lights and music were still working, just no more movement of the waterfall) and the monkey and frog next to the waterfall stopped moving after about a month of use. I called FP and they said they would send a replacement toy bar. When putting together, we had to bend the tubing that holds the seat and toy bar so that it would be straight (it was inclined towards the back, so pretty much in the baby's face). Also, the monkey and bird hanging from the bar are not that far high, my daughter (2m old) is kicking them with her knees. The seat isn't that far under the toy bar. The concept of the Rainforest Bouncer seat is good. The music, the lights in the waterfall, the vibration is good and the animals on the bar that move are all great ideas. The problem is the toys hanging from the bar are WAY TOO LOW. My daughter is a normal size 3 month old and the toys are sitting right on her legs. She bends her knees to kick and the toys are pinching her thighs. This gets her all ticked off. I also feel like the seat is a bit high off the floor, but the incline seems right. I guess I'll continue to search for a new seat that is mostly like our old one. Due to the poor design of the LOW toy bar I won't be recommending this to anyone. It is more upright than many others we considered which is great because my daughter loves to be upright and look around. She enjoys the toys and can grasp them just fine. The lights and music are great too. She slept in this chair at night for the first few months of her life and at that age, she loved the vibration. At this point, she is not sleeping in it but she still loves to use it during the day for a little playtime. The extra weight does make the chair not quite as upright but it is still holding up really well. The cover is easy to remove, easy to wash and it air dries very quickly. The waterfall attachment is very entertaining for her. When I need to get a few chores done around the house, the attachment really keeps her attention. It lights up and there are spirals inside that spin to make it look like the water is falling. There is a monkey and frog that move and keep her attention. The monkey and bird that hang down give her something to hit with her feet and hands. They also activate the music when put on the baby controlled settings. There is also a continuous setting that automatically shuts off after about 10 minutes. Your child can activate it again by hitting the monkey or bird. There is also a choice between rainforest sounds or music and a volume control. I was against getting a bouncy chair because we already had a swing and I also didn't really want to get one that was so colorful to clash with the decor. I know it's crazy! Anyway I am very happy that I purchased this. Now here is why it didn't get 5 stars: It would be better if the vibrating function also had an automatic shut off. The batteries last about 2 weeks. (2 Ds) The vibrating mechanism started to make a lot of noise which currently is being fixed by adjusting the wire legs. I called Fisher Price and they are sending me a new vibrating piece. It doesn't fold up like the lamb one does to travel with it. Overall- Pros: Great price on amazon. Excellent customer service from Fisher Price. Keeps my daughter occupied. Love the child activated feature. Cons: Vibrating doesn't auto shut off. Goes through batteries quickly (2 ds about every 2 weeks). Doesn't fold up. This chair is very helpful for a baby who cannot yet use the high chair due to the fact that she cannot yet hold her head properly. However, because it is a bouncer the heavier the baby the more the chair sits reclined and this is where my suggestion is. My baby wighs a healthy 17 lbs. Maybe, for a future generation of these kind of chairs, Fisher Price could use two vertical removable bars on both sides of the chair which can be mounted at the time of feeding keeping the chair higher up and also stopping it from bouncing during feeding. Currently, in my case, I have already found a solution. I have a corner couch and at feeding time I place the chair on the corner of the couch and push it as close as possible to the back of the couch. In this way the back of the bouncing chair is resting against the back of the couch at the desired high angle and and of course it stops it from bouncing. Also, doctors recommends for babies with acid reflux to always lay at a raised angle, and even after feeding I keep my daughter like this for another 30 minutes before she can bounce happily away. Since I do this, her acid reflux situation has improved considerably, she doesn't get hiccups like she used to and she has no more regurgitation.Please try again later. Please try again later. This way, you can recharge without replacing with new expensive batteries. I also have a recharger for smaller batteries too. This bouncer works great. It easily bounces when my grandson kicks and kicks. The vibrating mode is wonderful. The bouncy will entertain him for approximately 30 minutes. This doesn't sound like much time, but we have to keep moving the babies so they will not develop flat heads in their early months.
I have a friend who's 6 month baby is now having to wear a helmet 23 hours a day to correct the shape of his head. So, don't overuse the bouncer, nap nanny, etc.; keep them moving and reposition their little heads so flat head doesn't occur. I highly recommend this bouncer to everyone!Please try again later. It also has lights and nice music, while also offering the option of soothing vibration. It does require 4 size D batteries, so keep that in mind. It is very easy to install and it is very light and manageable; the cover removes easily to wash. If you have a very young baby you might want to hold using it for a bit, since the baby's head will just roll to the sides; or you can use one of those pillows that hold the baby's head in place (from my experience my baby doesn't like them too much, maybe you are lucky). The lights from the waterfall and the music gets him so excited. He loves to pull on the parrot and monkey. I like many features on this bouncer. First, I like the many different settings it offers. You can have it set on continuous lights and music or it can be set to motion-activate so that it makes sounds when your baby pulls on the monkey or parrot. It also can play animal sounds in place of the music. Second, the battery life lasts a long time. We had it for almost 2 months before we had to change it and my son uses it every day. The entire bouncer is very easy to assemble and disassemble with a phillips head screw driver.
