If people would simply use their brains the world would be a better place.So what did I have to do. Buy a Chilton Manual. It had a little more accurate info, however it didn't cover everything either. What did I end up having to do. Buy a Haynes manual for a 1999-2006 Chevy Pickup, and it had the info I needed for the electrical, interior etc. (although not everything), but the info for the body was not right for my truck or Tahoe.

So the review is not necessarily about the quality of the manual. Basically any half wit like me can fix this rudimentary machine. Again this manual does cover everything I need for this truck. I saved something from recycling, helped a good cause, and saved myself a boat load of money. Basically don't hesitate to buy used books from Amaxon.YouTube video's were of more help. He was also a product of the late 60's muscle car era, with experience in building street racers. Manual was pretty worthless.This manual covers 12 years worth of Chevrolet and GMC truck platforms. I could list the dozen or so models with the various sub-models, but it would take up too much room. I'll just say this: There is a night and day difference between my grandfather's old 1989 Chevy Silverado 1500 2wd long bed truck and my buddy's 1999 GMC Yukon 4x4. And yet Haynes covers them all in about 250 pages. How is that possible. Well, by cutting corners, being incomprehensibly vague, and touching only briefly on the major subjects of interest. I bought this manual primarily as a supplement to the diesel repair manual I bought from Haynes. I figured at least I'd be able to use this as a reference for my interior repair work and auxilory wiring system checks. Alas, I over-estimated Haynes once again. There is nothing vehicle-specific in here.and why would there be. Haynes is trying to pack 12 years worth of 12 models into 250 pages. This manual is worthless. Use the forums dedicated to your vehicle. Search the web for supplemental websites and info. Save your money and, if you get truly serious, spend it on a GM shop manual or something similar for your vehicle. Don't buy this.it will only frustrate you.I bought a truck this year and decided I'd fix it up. 95 c1500 silverado. Its got a v6 in it. Anyways I couldn't find exactly what I wanted because I didn't even know what to ask. I was getting hints but not fast. Even with Google it threw me off.

The other complaint is that you really have to dig to find the info you want. Too much of it is buried in the rebuild engine section, which keeps you page hopping.
