There are only a couple of minor differences between the cameras and the video points them out. It goes into detail and is really helpful in covering the controls and proper use of the camera.

I learned a great deal watching it, and, after going back and using the camera a bit, I found it helpful to watch parts of the video again. The second video covers shooting techniques for improving your photography. It is not specific to the Sony camera, but the information it covers relates directly to your use of a digital slr and how to get the most from it. This package is well worth the money. I'm 100 satisfied with it and I highly recommend it.I had no idea what I was doing since I had only used point-n-shoot cameras in the past, so I decided to buy this guide and the included DVD's were well worth the purchase. I was taking awesome product shots just after reviewing both videos. To be honest I never even looked at the book because the DVD's showed me everything I needed to know. I surprised myself at how great my photos looked. Knowing how to work your camera is the key and this guide shows you just that. Excellent resource, well worth the money IMO!!The photos examples in the book are of good quality, text easy to read and broken up into eye pleasing short paragraphs with the illustrated photo examples being explained. The Great Photos with your Digital SLR DVD is also excellent. Run time 60 minutes. It is like taking a photography class from the comfort of your own home. The User Manual that came with your Alpha will have more detail.Especially the one on the general photography, unless you are proficient at that. Even though I knew most of it, refreshing was useful, and some new things learned about the Sony a230. Well worth the money.Unfortunately, there were not 2 different DVD's, so after calling the publisher and explaining the problem, they will send a new book to me at no charge. The general photography DVD was easy to understand for a novice who is just getting into DSLR photography. We can't wait to get the book with the instructional DVD for the Sony product. We had purchased this product because of other reviews.
