Adobe doesn’t maintain a list of supported cameras and video cards because there are too many combinations to test. To broadcast video from the Camera and Voice pod in Adobe Connect Meeting, the operating system must have a valid camera driver. If the operating system doesn’t have a valid camera driver, Adobe Connect cannot use the camera. Adobe Connect uses the operating system API to check for the camera driver. To work with Adobe Connect, the camera and video card must support video at 30 fps (frames per second). If your camera or video card doesn’t work with Adobe Connect, contact Adobe Support. Provide the camera and video card specifications from the manufacturer. If possible please post a ascreenshot of the error message as well. I was, however, able to uninstall completely and reinstall. Installation was done from the acrobat.com web server, from the Downloads link. It was installed exactly as the onscreen instructions state. When the error is left on the screen, after several minutes a second error appears. The environment is Windows 7 Enterprise x64. This is a new install and nothing but the OS, MS Office, MS Security Essentials and Java are installed. This is the only Adobe product installed. The action I have taken so far is to completely uninstall (using MS Programs and Features) and to follow that up by manually removing all Acrobat folders from all Program Files, Program Data and the user AppData directories. A second identical installtion gave me the same results. After the second installation I deleted all the files in the Program Files (x86) folder and tried a repair. That also did not work. Any help would be appreciated. Addendum: I installed the 9.5.0 Successfully and it works perfectly. Thank you There is something wrong with the 10.x code. It's just bad software. Lane Nothing too unusual about it. The only thing that could be considered out of the ordinary is that the C:\users folder is a separate mounted drive.

This should have absolutely no effect on the installation or the operation of the Reader software. I've installed earlier versions of Reader 10.x on configurations such as this with no issue before. This is the first time I've tried 10.1.3. No roming profile. The problem existed before any AV software was installed. I always install Java and Reader together at the same time. For other versions of 6 you will need to check the GUID because this will have changed. This command line will perform a silent uninstall of Adobe Reader 6.0.1 only displaying a progress bar: This is similar to version 6, but with this version you can see that the GUID contains the application version (A709). So if you have other versions of Reader 7 installed you should be able change the GUID to match the version number. Here’s the uninstall command: Just like version 7 the application version is included in the GUID and should be updated as we see point releases for this version. If you are upgrading from version 5, you will end up with both versions installed as 5 will not be automatically uninstalled. You could also look at creating a custom Windows Installer package with Wise Package Studio or FLEXnet InstallShield to run the command line. I run Windows 7, 64bit. No sooner had I completed the installation than I encountered several serious problems. My external SeaGate hard drive E: was no longer recognized by my computer. Windows Explorer will not always work and when it does it’s slow and unresponsive. My Registry Mechanic program will run until it reaches Adobe Reader and then it too will lock up. My only recourse is to stop these processes in Task manager. I do still have internet connectivity. That’s running fine. I’ve tried to uninstall Adobe 10 in Control Panel, but it will not proceed. After an hour it says that installation is still in progress. I’ve tried to reinstall Adobe 10 in the hopes that this will somehow correct the problem, but I get a message that this program is already installed. Something was seriously broken and I was asked to sort it out. The user in question did delete files from various directories manually, which is not always a good idea, especially not if you do not have a backup at hand or at least know that you can delete a file without affecting the rest of your system.

First thing that I did try out nevertheless was to run the default Adobe Reader XI uninstaller from the Windows Uninstall or change a program control panel applet. The removal would not even start so that it was likely that important files had been deleted. Note: Other events can impact your ability to uninstall Adobe Reader or Acrobat as well. A successful virus attack or a system crash while the program is running are just two of the possibilities. Option 1: Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool This is an official Adobe program that works in pretty much the same way as those official antivirus software uninstallers work that companies like AVG, Symantec or Kaspersky offer. While Adobe does not reveal how it is working, it is likely that information about files, folders and Registry entries have been hard coded into the application. It checks each of them if it exists, and if it does, removes it before it proceeds to the next item on the list. The program itself is a click and forget type of application. You click through a list of menu pages that display legalities and the like. The only two choices that you need to make is to select whether you want Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to be removed from the system, and if you want additional directories to be searched for cleanup. The cleanup tool tries to launch the default uninstaller first, and displays the other options only if that operation fails. Notes: The application is only compatible with versions 10.x and later of Adobe Reader or Acrobat. It won't work properly if you have older versions of the pdf reader and creator installed on your system. Command line options You can run the program from the command line. The default value is set to 3. The log files are saved in the \Temp\RaftLogs\ file of the user installation. Revo Uninstaller is just one of the programs that you can use for the process. You can however use the free version only if the program is still listed as installed on your system.

The Pro version of Revo Uninstaller ships with an option to force uninstall programs that are no longer listed in the program's uninstallation window or Windows' own uninstallation control panel applet. A free program supporting forced uninstalls is IOBit Uninstaller which you can use for that purpose. The program is available as a setup and portable version. Here you need to enter the full path of the installation and the program's exact name to completely remove it from the system. Closing Words If you run into troubles uninstalling one of Adobe's pdf products, you may very well give the official tool a try first as it appears better suited for the job. If that does not work out, or if you want to make sure that everything got removed from your system, run a third party tool afterwards to make sure of that. Although I mentioned the need to manually eliminate all Adobe files, even if it meant losing Flash which uninstalled without a problem, the user is still hobbling along with an alternative piece of software instead of eliminating the problem. Martin Brinkmann said on July 2, 2013 at 5:06 pm Reply I guess the only option then is to do a manual cleanup of the system. This can be difficult though. I know it doesn't sound professional, but whenever a program would not install, I just deleted everything it could use, (start menu items, desktop icons, etc, etc) and restarted. Try to install the newer version after that. Good luck! My guess is that these files got deleted, likely in an attempt to clean up a desktop. You could try to somehow restore the file to that location, but that probably won't be super easy and so it won't be worth the effort. In all honesty, you're probably more likely to be better off just using a method to manually clean off the software (deleting the files), and then eliminate the related entry from HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall Just deleting the files (for the old version) may not seem like a very thorough cleaning job, as that approach may leave behind some registry entries. However, chances are that nearly every one of those remaining registry entries are likely to just be used once you get the new version installed, so you can rest easy knowing that you're not leaving a ton of useless clutter in the registry.

I don't think people should be expected to know, based on the very limited information you've provided so far. There are probably tons of different reasons that an installation program could break.
