Next 20 pages are about the standard flavors of joint and joint preparation that you'd get in any basic welding text (I like Modern Welding, by Althouse, Turnquist, Bowditch, Bowditch, and Bowditch). Again, some mentions of failure modes and prevention, but not predominant. The rest of the book is more meaty w.r.t. what a design or structural engineer would care about, including actual practical day-to-day considerations, in addition to physical design formulae. It's all good stuff, and nice to have in one volume.
