After another day or two of solid slog I got myself up to reasonably attaining well over 90 (in the end with this method I was getting 100). My first two exams, air law and met, took a lot, lot longer. Looking back on it that was my rustiness in taking exams together with a retiscence to trust my own learning. Once I'd integrated the test printed and online questions, things were a lot easier.But I would recommend doing it that way rather than trying to study piecemeal, which I found very time inefficient. Revised questions more relevant to the PPL rather than including what has been thought of as questions more suited to CPL. Used the AFE question books almost exclusively and they were very relevant to the real exams. Good luck! If you fail an exam and then retake it, even if it's within 10 days, a new sitting is deemed to have started. If you fail a particular exam 4 times, or if you run out of sittings, you have to start again. This is what I've read in various places, so I thought I knew what I had to do. However, someone at my flight school has told me something different: Each sitting is 10 days and you must take 3 exams in a sitting (so in a 10 day period I need to book and pass 3 separate papers).

As you say you can take for example two exams in one sitting but if you fail one then you cannot retake it in the same sitting. If so, that's all the more likely to push my down the road of doing the whole lot in an accelerated ground school somewhere, because it's bad enough trying to fit in the study for one written exam amongst the pressures of everyday life, let alone three at a time. I'd find it easier to take myself away for a week and concentrate fully on the course materials with an instructor who teaches it regularly, than trying to make my own way through the textbooks in between work and childcare duties.
