This tool went the distance it was cool in your hand, and quiet!!! Problem was when I went to register it, Bosch informed me that the item I received was manufactured in 2010. Thus Bosch would need proof of purchase and special approval to provide me with the full 3 year warranty. Also, the batteries on these 12V devices have been through several revisions over the years (I own several other Bosch 12V devices). Currently Bosch is marketing 2.0Ah batteries; the ones that came with the item that I received were 1.3Ah. For these 2 reasons, I returned the item and purchased a corded Rockwell Sonicrafter F30 from Lowes. I'm actually relieved that this worked out this way. As part of the the return process with Amazon, I explained all this but I don't know if they done anything about old stock in their inventory. Since I do work away from home, I wanted an oscillating tool that was cordless. First I bought the Craftsman. Tool was OK but the batteries were terrible. Then I bought the Bosch and couldn't be happier. I'm surprised by the power of the 12V battery.
I use the flush cutter for undercutting door frames on flooring jobs. It may take two batteries to complete a room, but it sure beats dragging around a cord or finding a plug. I first encountered this while working at a friends house and soon after I had to have one for myself. The battery charges very fast and lasts well as long as you aren't really straining the motor. I have used it for many projects and cutting wood, drywall and even pipe is amazingly easy. The power and agility makes it a very useful tool for any craftsman. Although it is the cordless version and the battery life is the limitation compared to the corded version. I keep several batteries charged and rarely go through one or two for the task at hand. Its not a tool you run continuously for extended periods of time.
The blades are a bit costly, but the seem to last if using the right blade for the job at hand. I would most definitely recommend this tool to any one and buy another. There are just some jobs that are not suited for any other tool and this one fills the gap. Especially when making plunge cuts in awkward places, this tool shines. I have also found that the scraper blade is a very effective replacement for hand scraping. The speed adjustment is good for preventing burning and alleviating some of the two main problems. The only complaints I have are battery life and noise. This tool will chew threw a bettery in no time. ??luckily a quick charger and a spare battery will see you through must jobs. I have also found this tool to produce quite high pitched noise when running full blast. This often requires the use of ear protection. IT seems some internal dampening may be in order for the noise. However after the second charge I noticed the running time had been shortened and then the battery tabs were breaking loose causing the battery to pop out.Odd I went through four battery in a week time before I returned the tool. I loved the idea but for me its running life was short and battery life was weak. I see the versatility I like it. I hated to return it. Would I buy today? I think I would. I see they have a new version out. For now it a corded one now back to work.

I am not a contractor, just a homeowner. I have about 15 to 20 hrs.I was prepping my floor to put down tile. Upon evaluation it was found that the drive gear was broken. This is a plastic removable gear inside the head. It appears that the gear is designed to fail. Keep in mind my use time for tool has been a total of 15 - 20 hours. I like the usefulness of the tool, but the durability is very questionable. I would not recommend this tool unless Bosch fixes this problem. This gear should be made to last.
