Here’s What You Can Do March 25, 2018 Show all 1 Bosch Refrigerator’s Ice or Water Dispenser Not Working. March 11, 2018 Categories Bosch Ice Maker Refrigerator Help Water Dispenser Tags Is Your Bosch Refrigerator’s Ice or Water Dispenser Not Working. Your Bosch refrigerator is one of the hardest working appliances in the home and something you probably can’t live without. The first thing you should do before attempting any repairs, disconnect power and turn off the water supply for safety reasons. Follow these simple tips to get your Bosch refrigerator ice and water dispensers working properly: Check the water filter When the water filter is clogged, it may cause no water at all or very slow water dripping from the dispenser. To maintain proper water flow, change the filter at least once in 6 months. Once you have replaced the water filter, test the dispenser for free water flow. Check if the water pressure is sufficient The home may have low water pressure. To operate properly, the water inlet valve requires from 20 to 120 psi. To help determine this, shut off the water supply, disconnect the supply line from the inlet valve, and hold the line over a bucket. Turn the water supply back on and observe whether or not there is a strong flow of water jetting out of the line. A weak flow indicates a problem with the water line or the water supply valve. Make sure there is no air in the line If your Bosch refrigerator has been recently installed, there may be air in the line. Push the water dispenser lever down for 3 minutes. For this period, the water reservoir will fill up completely.http://www.bouwdata.net/evenement/4-in-1-convertible-crib-manual

If water still does not dispense, make sure the water supply line is connected to the refrigerator properly and the water pressure meets the requirements for your refrigerator model. You can find instructions in the user manual. If further assistance is needed, call to schedule an appointment with our professional refrigerator repair technician. Make sure the water supply tube is not frozen A frozen water supply tube leading to the icemaker tray or the water dispenser can also impede dispenser functions. You can heat the supply tube by heating it with a hairdryer, but be aware that a frozen supply tube is usually caused by insufficient water pressure or a defective inlet valve. Check if the water line valve is open For refrigerator to receive water, the water line valve to your refrigerator should be completely open. Denver Appliance Pros can help you. Call us to schedule an appointment with one of our professional repair technicians. He will diagnose your Bosch refrigerator and fix the problem at the soonest possible time. Possible faulty hardware that could be causing issues. Faulty dispenser switch The dispenser switch sends voltage to the dispenser. The switch, actuated by the dispenser lever, could be faulty. Depending on the model, you may be able to use a multi-meter to test the switch for continuity a continuous electrical path present in the switch. If the switch tests negative for continuity, it will need to be replaced. Defective ice dispenser control board If all of the dispenser functions are disrupted, then the ice maker control board itself may be defective. While the board cannot be easily tested, you can inspect it for signs of burning or shorted out component. Malfunctioning door switch The door switch disables the ice and water dispenser when the refrigerator door is open. A malfunctioning door switch may prevent the dispenser from operating even when the door is closed.http://aiyta.com/images/bosch-refrigerator-b20cs50sns-manual.pdf

As with the dispenser switch, you can use a multi-meter to test the door switch for continuity to determine if the switch has failed electrically. Faulty water inlet valve The water inlet valve opens to supply water to the dispenser. The inlet valve can fail both mechanically and electrically. A mechanical failure could be caused by the build-up of mineral deposits, preventing the valve from opening. If this happens, the valve will need to be replaced. Trying to clean out an old valve is not recommended due to the risk of part failure after repair. To determine if the inlet valve has failed electrically, use a multi-meter to test the valve solenoid coils for continuity. If one or more of the coils test negative for continuity, the inlet valve will need to be replaced. Defective main control board A defective main control board could result in the ice or water dispenser not working. As with the dispenser board, you can inspect the main board for signs of burning or a shorted out component and replace it with a new one provided all of the other dispenser components are working properly. We have identified the most common things that might be causing your Bosch refrigerator not to work properly, but there are other parts that could be at fault as well. Do not hesitate to call us and schedule a Bosch refrigerator repair appointment. According to research from the spruce website, you can reduce the amount of water you use in your home using the water dispenser. If you pay for water by the gallon, a water dispenser will eliminate running the faucet for several seconds to draw cold water. Save your money and improve water quality with your properly working water dispenser.

We have notice that the ice as it melts leave a white colloidal mater in the water. I double check the water dispenser and the water comes out clear. I change filters twice and purge the ice for the first 24 hrs and it is still producing this white debris. What is the next step to get clean and clear ice cubes? If there is ice in the bin make sure the ice bin is in all the way.If the bin is emty open the little door where you can see if there is ice, on the left you will see the square end of the ice maker unit. Slip your fingers under the front face, palm of your hand facing up so you can feel the bottom of the front of the unit. Over to the left you will feel a button that you can not see. Just push it in for a few seconds and the unit should start. One other thing, make sure the limit switch is pulled down, thats the plastic on the wire which shuts the unit off if it is full. Good Luck.

If this is your design, the trays often can buildup with minerals from the water supply and eventually become sticky and fail to drop the cubes. To test you can remove the ice cubes stuck in the tray, then try spraying the tray with PAM or grease it with margarine and let it run a cycle, allow a few hours. If the new batch of cubes released from the tray, replace the tray. These heating elements rarely fail; more often it is the thermostat or control module. Hope, helpful. Try raising the temp to just under freezing, not way under. Login to post Also, fridge drain hole blocked, water in bottom of fridge. This is a common fault in Hotpoint Fridge Freezers and can also happen if the door has been left open or has been a power cut. 1. Turn off fridge freezer, or at least turn down the freezer temp to minimum, though not ideal. 2. Open freezer door and remove all drawers. 3. Remove the back panel on the inside of the freezer. This is held in place with 4 screws, which might be 6mm hex head or star allen head. Pull the panel out. 4. Behind where the panel was, there is a cooling element for cooling, pipes, and below this a temperature sensor. If the fridge freezer is not switched off, then fold together a few layers of tinfoil and wrap around the sensor. 5. Use a hairdryer to slowly melt the ice. Melt it around areas where it appears to be hanging on, such as the corners of the cooling element or bolts, as well as any thin sections below the main block of ice around the cooling element, which will be supporting the main block. Use a plastic ice scraper to remove ice but not near pipes or sensor. If this hole is full of ice, pour a small amound of warm water down, leave for 10 seconds and pour a bit more until clear. In the fridge, clear the drain hole in the same way.

Warning: Do not pour a lot of water down, as this water drains onto a tray above the hot compressor at the rear of the fridge freezer to be evaporated by the heat of the compressor and the tray will only hold a small amount. 7. When all ice is removed, dry all moisture. Put the shelves back. Close door. Turn on fridge freezer. Turn up the freezer temperature to your normal setting. Turn on fast freeze if available. After 1 hour, check with a thermometer. It should be cold enough after 1 or 2 hours.I changed the grill filter, now water is dispensing but no ice. What should i do? But ours is in a vacation home so we have to keep the water turned off all the time. It seems something in the ice line freezes when the fridge is empty. Then, no ice, no water. When we turn the water back on, after a few days of having food in the fridge, it seems to make everything melt and flood the tray then leak out onto the floor all day and night. The fridge temp goes down to 12 degrees when the fridge side is empty. It seems to stabilize when there are items inside. We put several gallons of water inside instead of leaving it empty and it helps with the temp but not with the leaking. OR I clean up floods the entire time!! Now it's out of warranty. Now that I see it happens to people in their main house, I would just say NEVER EVER EVER BUY FRIGIDAIRE AGAIN!There are several things I have noticed, not sure they are caused by the same problem or not, but. Perhaps you also notice a regular ice buildup in the bottom of the freezer compartment. My solution was to switch off the fridge and unplug it from the wall, unload the freezer compartment and remove the white plastic back panel inside the freezer compartment. The panel has arrows marked around the edges where the catches are that hold it in place. Carefully flex out the panel at the catches using a large flat blade screwdriver if necessary. Ice buildup can make removal of this panel more difficult.

Behind this back panel is a condenser, under which is a silver tray, which is designed to catch the drops which fall from the condensor (this is the 'frost-free' part of the fridge). I found mine solidly frozen with ice and used a low-heat setting on a heat gun to melt the ice. In the absence of a heat gun a hair dryer will work fine, but don't melt the plastic components of the fridge. (It is also unadvisable to chip away ice with a knife of other sharp implement as you can easily slip and damage yourself or the fridge). After fully defrosting the tray (this will take some time), including the drain hole in the base of the tray (pour a small amount of warm water in the tray and make sure it drains readily), reassemble the fridge components and restock your fridge. Remember to plug it back in and switch it on. No more water leaks. As an alternative to this fix.I didn't use this method but I reckon a week would be long enough to defrost the ice buildup behind the back panel of the freezer and allow the water to drain, yielding the same result.Answer questions, earn points and help others. In the past couple of months I noticed that freezer section wasn't producing enough cold to freeze the produces. Every week it would produce less and less cold. Finally, it's at the point when it's making some cold, but not enough to freeze anything, not even a water. There was ice formed up on a couple of shelves and very little on a back wall. Looks like freezer is getting cold, but still not enough to freeze. When you were looking for the defrost heater, you did look at the freezer coils and right below those. Were the freezer coils covered in frost. Thanks, Barry Ask Your Own Appliance Question Customer reply replied 6 years ago Unfortunately I could not figure out an easy way of opening the back wall from inside the freezer. When I used to GE refrigerator, the defrost heater was right on a bottom covered in a little plastic box. All I had to do was open a box and defrost was right there. But in this Bosch refrigerator, I'm not sure where the defrost heater is. I needed some help on figuring out how to open a back wall without breaking anything. What are the proper instructions on doing this. Also, what do you think the problem may be. Appliance Technician: Barry G., Home Appliance Technician replied 6 years ago I have a service manual on the thing and it does not show me enough to be able to tell you where all of the screws are to be able to get to it. I can see the defrost heater is huge, you couldn't miss it. Is there frost on that rear wall in the freezer. Barry Ask Your Own Appliance Question Customer reply replied 6 years ago The frost on a back wall from the inside of freezer is not significant, but it's there. For example when a defrost heater broke in my GE fridge a long time ago, the back wall was totally covered in snow and ice. And it was very easy to spot a defrost heater. In my current Bosch fridge, the back wall has some water on it that's frozen. When I touch it, it feels like ice.

However, I'm not sure where the defrost heater is behind that wall. And also I'm not sure whether or not it is the defrost heater or something else that maybe causing it. Please see the image below. Excellent picture. I have been called out and I am going to have to relist your question for all techs to review. I am sorry, I have to go. You take the best of care and thank you for the opportunity. Barry Ask Your Own Appliance Question Customer reply replied 6 years ago Will someone get back to me. What's my next step in terms of this service. Appliance Technician: Kelly, Appliance Technician replied 6 years ago Kelly, Appliance Technician Category: Appliance Satisfied Customers: 31,905 Experience: Highly accurate diagnostician with over 30 years experience. Verified Thanks for counting on us to help with your appliance problem. That does not look like a defrost issue to me but more of lack of air flow. Is the fan motor running in the freezer. Can you remove that back panel from inside the freezer to expose the evaporator coil. Ask Your Own Appliance Question Customer reply replied 6 years ago I have removed the rear wall. I see the defrost heater and coils. What's next? Also, what is this fan for. What is its' function. I just turned the refrigerator back on and saw how FAN was working. As soon as I opened Freezer's door FAN slowly stopped circulating. Another test that I've done a few moments later was this. I opened Freezer's door again after about 10 minutes and FAN wasn't working. So I pressed and held the button that gets by the freezer's door when it's closed. I decided to manually hold that button. As I was holding it FAN was trying to start, I saw the motion, but it wouldn't circulate. I gave it a push start with a finger and it started working. Then I released the door button and FAN stopped working. Then I tried the same thing again. It looks like FAN only works with a push start. Not sure why it worked when I first plugged the refrigerator in.

Finally, I let it sit working for 10 minutes. Then I opened freezer's door and FAN was working normally. Then after 5 minutes I tried it again and FAN was working fine. Appliance Technician: Kelly, Appliance Technician replied 6 years ago The fan circulates the air around the compartments and, as I suspected, will need to be replaced. The correct fan motor for your model is available below. They offer a 100 money back guarantee, EVEN ON INSTALLED ELECTRICAL PARTS, for an entire year. Ask Your Own Appliance Question Customer reply replied 6 years ago But my FAN does work. Why do you insist it needs replacing. Am I missing something. Is this a different FAN than the one that I'm talking about. The FAN that I was talking about sits right behind the Ice Maker. Is that the same one you're talking about. Appliance Technician: Kelly, Appliance Technician replied 6 years ago I am a bit confused. You said it needs a bit of help to get turning at times. The pictures you posted are indicative of poor air flow. Ask Your Own Appliance Question Customer reply replied 6 years ago Sorry for the confusion. In the beginning it looked like it was trying start, but it didin't. However, after a while it turned on each time the door closed. I guess I can try buying it and then if it still not working I can return it. Is that right? Appliance Technician: Kelly, Appliance Technician replied 6 years ago If ordered through the link I sent, yes. They allow returns on installed parts. Has it been cooling well now.
