All lights come on as usual and time comes up in display when you press start, but it does not run. Verified Hiya, Are you getting any flashing lights when this happens. Start the programme and, keeping yourself well away from the wiring and connections, give the drum a push round. Does it start running till it changes direction. Thanks Ask Your Own UK Appliance Question Customer reply replied 10 years ago Pushed in both directions, does not start. UK Appliance Technician: Techdesk, Field Service Engineer replied 10 years ago Hiya, OK, thanks for that. I've had a look through the service manual but there's no tests that can be done without specialised equipment. The service manual only suggests a motor fault, wiring fault, pcb fault or door fault for the problem you are having. The manual refers to a start led. Is this the flashing red dot you refer to earlier. If the start button has an led, is it flashing or steady. Thanks Ask Your Own UK Appliance Question Customer reply replied 10 years ago The start button has an led above it. This is flashing prior to pushing the start button, but once pressed the light is continuous. The flashing light which I refer to is on the display screen. UK Appliance Technician: Techdesk, Field Service Engineer replied 10 years ago Hiya, Thanks for that. As the light goes from flashing to steady this would suggest the door lock is working ok.http://goldengrainsdubai.com/public_html/userfiles/4_3-vortec-service-manual.xml
This leaves the control board, motor and the wiring as the possible causes of the fault We can try accessing the test mode to try and narrow it down further. Set the programmer and timer knobs to the 12 o'clock position. Press and hold together the start and delicate buttons. Whilst holding them, switch on. The start led will flash rapidly to indicate test mode. Let go of the buttons. You may have an error code displayed. If you do, let me know before continuing. Press start and let the appliance run it's test. Let me know what happens. Thanks Ask Your Own UK Appliance Question Customer reply replied 10 years ago The start led flashes rapidly, with no error code on the display. However when I turn to cupboard dry and press start, the cottons led goes out and cupboard dry light stays on, but nothing else happens. What do you mean by let it run its test. UK Appliance Technician: Techdesk, Field Service Engineer replied 10 years ago Hiya, If you followed the instructions it should have gone through a test programme. The motor should run amongst the tests. If nothing has happened at all it would suggest the main board is at fault. Thanks Ask Your Own UK Appliance Question Customer reply replied 10 years ago Is this a viable item to replace or not worth the expense. Click here for the main board (Double check before ordering that this board is for your appliance using the full E-Nr number and possibly the FD number). Given the price of the board I would suggest getting a price for repair from www.repaircare.co.uk Their price includes parts and labour. You'll be better placed to decide on repair or replacement once you know the cost of the part or repair. The main board is the suspect here as it didn't run the test when selected and is also on the list of probable causes in the service manual. When the test programme was selected it should have run the water pump, the drum motor and checked a few components.http://beach.domyno.cz/userfiles/4_3-vortec-repair-manual.xml
If the door lock is faulty, the start button should remain flashing. Hope this helps Let me know how it goes or if you need more help Thanks Techdesk, Field Service Engineer Category: UK Appliance Satisfied Customers: 16,409 Experience: Whitegoods engineer working for a multibranded national company in the UK. If it doe not then thanks for your help anyway. UK Appliance Technician: Techdesk, Field Service Engineer replied 10 years ago Hiya, Yes I know it's a tumble dryer. The test programme covers both the condenser (has a pump) and vented dryers. On the vented dryer the motor, heater and temperature sensor are checked on the test programme (no pump). As you had nothing tested, it suggests the pcb is at fault. Thanks Ask Your Own UK Appliance Question Customer reply replied 10 years ago Thanks again UK Appliance Technician: Techdesk, Field Service Engineer replied 10 years ago Hiya, No problem. Sorry it's not good news and an easy fix. Good luck with the appliance, whichever way you go. Thank you for the payment, it is appreciated.
