I plugged them both into. Read up on unbalanced and balanced lines and TRS connectors. One of these requires TRS connections and the signal is being carried on the RING of the TIP-RING-SLEEVE connector. Plugging in half-way the TIP touches the ring pickup contact. The emgs one MAY use TRS type cables and there may be a reason the signal and hot of these are reversed. If I could find schematics on all this equipment I could unravel the exact cause. ALSO verify you are using the SAME type guitar cable for both.OFTEN a TRS cable will NOT turn on the electronics when plugged into a guitar. Use an unbalanced instrument cable unless you have the XLR type output. Use of an adapter from the XLR type cable into the Boss will usually not work.My Boss GT10 pedal 3 has stopped working and when pressed does not activate the corresponding patch. I did a factory reset and I've run through the calibration and set the threshold to the lowest setting and I still have to stand on the toe to get it to come on.
Then sometimes it won't stay on. Is there a setting in the System menu that would cause this.I've done this on my old GT 8 and it worked fine. The GT-10 threshold is set to 1 so I should be able to engage by hand. I pretty much have to stand on the Exp Sw to get it to engage. (all 185 lbs of me). (this was on my basement cement floor). My guess is that the switch is darn near dead. I suppose at this point, I can assign a CTL pedal to kick on the Wah. ( I don't use it a whole lot anyway ). Thanks for the suggestions. My guess is that the switch is darn near dead. The EXP pedal calibration must be done to suit YOUR playing, it should be done with the processor on the floor and use your foot, and adjust the threshold to suit the required pedal pressure.Like wise, when I move it all the way forward, there is a lag in getting to 100 volume. This can be seen on the display and heard.Like wise, when I move it all the way forward, there is a lag in getting to 100 volume. This can be seen on the display and heard. While testing the calibration again, I found that the wah would engage but not stay engaged. I was in the Patch mode, and while checking the other settings in the play menu, I found that Exp Pedal Hold was 'On'. I turned it off, and much to my surprise, the wah now stayed on when the Exp Sw is pressed and functions like it should. When I look at that parameter in the manual, it sure doesn't sound like that's what it controls. And it baffles me why this would be a default setting after doing a system reset which I did on the very first day I got it. Anyway, thanks for all your input and help. Peace.
