I purchased this product on Dec 18, 2011 from Amazon. To this day, it is used about once a week (at least once every 2wks) and it's still working great. On other occasions there's nothing but that collar around his neck that will keep him quiet. I do like that it's a vibration sensor so another dog's bark cannot set it off. It's been in water, caked with mud, you name it and still going strong. Maybe takes a little longer to fully charge when it does die but, I really was shocked (no pun intended) that it had been this long since I purchased it. Certainly a worth while purchase. Eventually I'm guessing it will die or, lose it's charge for longer periods. Without hesitation I'd buy another one tomorrow if needed. Little side note. If your dog starts getting irritation from the collar prongs, take a pair of thin socks or (what the person showed me with) a pair of pantyhose, cut them in small squares and wrap the prongs that contact your dogs neck.I just wasn't fast enough to grab the remote for our e-collar every time he wanted to bark. Well once we had a baby I gave up as he outsmarted me and would bark if I wasn't holding the remote. We bought this collar and only turned it to 2 (per our trainers suggestion according to his normal level).he tested it a few times and learned very fast. Now we don't even turn it on, he just has to have it on (he totally knows when it's not on and will bark). He only wears it when he is home (goes to doggy daycare during the day) but NOT at bedtime. My biggest complaint early on was there is no low battery indicator and no way of knowing when it's fully charged. Disclaimer: our trainer made us feel a shock when we first trained our dog with an e-collar so you know what it feels like to your dog. I suggest if you are using this that you do the same.

The collar came with some battery life and it also comes with this little plastic clip you place over the bark sensor, you then take a coin and drag it across the bumpy plastic surface to simulate vibration from a bark and then you can hear the collar emit its electricity. Cool my collar works. Anyways i put my multimeter on it with the collar on its highest setting and it peaked at 315v, should be more then ample for my pure german shepard. Charge the collar for maybe two hours and then the light on it goes from red (charging incomplete) to green (charge complete). I have this on my dog for roughly 4 days, taking it off when not needed and every night. I kept the collar set at 5 and it curbed his unwanted barking when every one in the house was at work and school. So far so great. Then on the 5th or 6th day he starts barking and does not get shocked, i check the collar by turning it off then turning it on and see no light appear telling me the collar is dead, i plug it into the charger and the red light comes on. After 10 hours it does not go green. I test it with the little plastic piece, nothing. I put it on my dog and he barks, nothing. So i let it charge for another 10hrs. This collar is toast. Go through amazons return process and decide to get a replacement, very fast and easy. Two days later i get the replacement and put the old collar, sorry not old, broken collar (one week isn't that old) in the box and send it back to them to complete the exchange. This new collar did not come charged, there was no juice in it. So i put it on the charger and waited and waited and waited for that red light to turn green. And guess what? It never did. Tried it out anyways and it would not work. Gave it another over night charging and NADA. So i am returning this for my money back this time.Had on level 2 ( my dog is 130 lbs) and it shocked him one time After another. We chased him around the yard after watching him Yelp and fall to the ground numerous times.

Finally got it off of him and his fur was burnt and his skin was raw. I can't imagine what would have happened if this was set in the higher setting. Horrible horrible horrible!!! The info said it can be used for smaller dogs and it does, but it is huge and we had to cut most of the collar off so he can't chew on it or it dragging on the floor. I wish it was smaller, but it works. We have it on a low setting and still he yelps like he's been bitten.

I don't think that the vibration warning is working, because it lit him up as soon as he barked. We had a loud thunder storm that apparently set off the collar because he yelped. So it is not working like it says it is suppose to, but it has stopped the barking so I'm happy. I like that it is rechargeable, because other collars would burn through batteries, at 6 bucks a pop and didn't last very long was getting expensive.
