However, for achieving precise settings, you may need professional assistance or a truss rod adjustment. W e strongly recommend bringing your guitar to the shop where you purchased your instrument or shipping the guitar to the Ibanez repair center for adjustments. It is beautiful looking guitar although the look of the neck doesn't seem to go too good with the Koa body. The body body is a beautiful brown Koa wood and the neck has the cherry finish look to it. The neck is reddish compared to the brown body. I would imagine that since the neck is a bolt on neck they probably use the same neck for all the different models. The guitar sounds good plugged in but unplugged it is much quiter than a regular acoustic. It might be due to the soundhole placement. I have played one in a store and to get the best acoustic tone I need to use the position for acoustic. Anything but I am not happy with too much like a clean electric. Then to get a good overdriven tone IMO you can not use the acoustic switch setting. I was running through an amp with a straight electric and a T- and had to crank the amp gain ALOT to get any decent overdriven tone and it still did not compare to my ears to a straight electric. While I know there is a compromise between the two sounds I could actually get a real sweet acoustic tone through a Roland acoustic amp but going into an electric amp WITHOUT using any ouboard processors the gain sjut did not cut it for me.
My taste is not for a slightly dirtied up clean tone but a strong hi gain tone with plenty of volume and the ability to clean up the tone with just rolling off the volume knob. So withthe T-5 there IS NO ONE switch setting that will do both acoustic and electric tones decent. At least not IMO. Messed around quite a bit at the store on several visits.One for home and one for our church. Since Musicians Friend has ship dates for the 750 and 700 in the next 2-4 weeks maybe these are the one's that have arrived although I think there is only 150 of the Koa's being made as it is a limited production model.
