ic693alg392 manual

Each channel can be individually configured for the output range required for your application. The module has no jumpers or switches for configuration. All eight channels are updated every 12 milliseconds. User data in the AQ registers is in a 16-bit 2 s complement format. In current modes, an open-wire fault is reported to the CPU for each channel. The module can go to a known last state when system power is interrupted. As long as user power is applied to the module, each output will maintain its last value, or reset to zero, as determined by how you have configured the module. Important Product Information Please note the following important product information. If this selection is not made, a loss of module fault will occur. CPU: Firmware Version 5.0 or later: If your CPU has firmware version 5.0, or later, then the I configuration will accept 8 or 16 I bits. In the 0 to 20 mA range, user data is scaled so that 0 mA corresponds to a count of 0 and 20 mA corresponds to 32000. Note that in the 0 to 20 mA mode, you can enter a value up to 32767 which provides a maximum output of approximately 20.5 mA. Scaling of the current output for both the 4 to 20 mA range and the 0 to 20 mA range is shown below. In current mode the module also provides an open loop fault detect which is reported to the PLC in the I table. 4 AQ (decimal) CURRENT (mA) a44683 0 20 0 32000 4 to 20 mA Range AQ (decimal) CURRENT (mA) a44684 0 20 0 32000 0 to 20 mA Range Figure 11-13. High Density Analog Output (8 Channels) All eight channels are updated every 8 milliseconds. In current modes, the module reports an Open Wire fault to the CPU for each channel. As long as external power is applied to the module, each output will maintain its last value or reset to zero, as configured. In order to meet the levels for RF Susceptibility specified in Appendix A of the PACSystems RX3i System Manual, GFK-2314, when this module is present, the system must be mounted in a metal enclosure. CPU firmware must be version 5.0 or later to configure the module for 8 I inputs. Hand-Held Programmer: Only Series modules IC693ALG392 version C or earlier support the Series Handheld Programmer. Series modules IC693ALG392 version BD or later and RX3i modules IC694ALG392 (all versions) cannot be used with a Hand-held Programmer. IC693ALG392-BB or later is not compatible with a Series Hand-held Programmer. IC693ALG392-C February 2005 ATEX approval for Group 2, category 3 applications. Module thermal deratings depend on the voltage level and the use of current and voltage outputs. To determine the maximum operating temperature for mixed current and voltage outputs, select the line in the chart below that corresponds to the number of voltage channels being used. For example, a module uses 2 voltage channels and 3 current channels. Each channel can be configured to operate as a voltage output or a current output - not both simultaneously. LEDs The Module OK LED indicates module status. It is connected to the EIB via the bus connecting terminal supplied. All-in-one package for open channel flow measurement.

It also provides unipolar and bipolar voltage ranges as well as 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA current ranges. Each output channel has the capability to perform 15 to 16 bits of digital-analog conversion. The update rate for the 8 channels is 8 milliseconds for each channel. In its current mode, the module has the facilities to report an open wire fault to the CPU. After external power is applied, each output is configured to its last value or reset to zero. The module must be operated at its maximum load resistance in order to achieve maximum durability and performance. It has 2 LEDs to indicate the module's operating status and the status of the power supply.

When us ed with the latest Series 90 CPUs, the Ethe rnet Interface provides h ighly eff icient periodic dat a transf er between PL Cs using Ethe rnet Global D ata exchanges. ? Transfer data between P LCs. The Ethernet Interface provides client capability, the capability to initiate communications to o ther Series 90 Ethernet Interfaces, using COMMREQ functions in the ladder pro gram. ? Access data using a Host computer. C omputer appl ications which use th e SRTP protocol can access data within the Series 90 P LC through the server capability of the Ethernet Interface.. ? Communicate simultaneously to m ultiple devices. The multiplexing capabilities o f the Ethernet Interface, along with Ethernet network’ s high capacity, allow the PLC to communicate with s everal other devices at the same time. ? Maintain compatibility with other GE Fanuc devices and devices from other vendors. The Series 90-30 Eth ernet Interface, S eries 90-30 CPU364 Em bedded Ethernet Interface, Series 90-30 CPU374 Em bedded Ethernet Interface, and Series 90- 70 Ethernet In terface (Type 2) are compatible with each other. You can find problem s before they becom e serious. They use a twisted pair cable (uns hielded or shielded) of up to 100 m eters in length between the node an d another node, a hu b, a repeater, or a switch. The m aximum leng th of a cable s egment is 185 m eters. A maximum of 30 s tations is allowed on a 10Base2 Eth ernet segmen t.

AUI Port ( Series 90-70 Et hernet Inter face (Type 2) ) and AAUI Port ( Series 90-30 Et hernet Interf ace (AAUI-o nly Type) and Series 90-30 C PU364) The AUI and AAUI ports provide the electrical and m echanical interface to the user- provided Ethernet transceiver cable, wh ich connects the AUI or AA UI port to an extern al user-provided transceiver. (T he transceiver cable may be separate or built-in to the transceiver.) T he external transceiver is directly connected to the Ethernet cable. Capabilities an d limitations are defined in IEEE 802.3 C hapter 13, “S ystem Considerations for Multi-Segment Networks”. T his document is published b y the Institute of Electrical an d Electronics Engineers, In c., 345 East 47th Street, New York, NY 10017-23 94 USA. The Ethernet Interface can operate on any of th e follo wing media wi th the appropriate user- suppli ed transceiver cabl e and trans ceiver. IEEE 802.3 s pecifies t he definitiv e requirem ents of each m edium. 10Base5 Coax: 10Base5 us es a 0.4 inch diam eter 50-ohm coaxial cable and is commonly called “thick wi re”. The maximum l ength of a cable se gment is 500 m eters. The dist ance between an y two s tations mus t be a multipl e of 2.5 m eters. A maximum of 100 stations is all owed on a 10Base5 Ethernet s egment. 10Base2 Coax: 10Bas e2 is desc ribed ab ove. 10Base-T: 10Base -T is descri bed above. 10Base-F: 10Bas e-F has two vari ations that both use the sam e type of fiber- optic cable. 10Base-FP can support u p to 33 nodes at di stances of up to 500 m eters from a passiv e star; 10Base-FL supports u p to 2000 me ters between a node and a repeater (a m ulti-port repeater would thus constitute a star). Additio nally, 10Base-FB pr ovides a means of interco nnecting (only ) repeaters by up to 2000 me ters of (the same ) fiber-optic cable. 10Broad36: 10Broad3 6 uses 75- ohm coaxial cable an d CATV-like media com ponents (taps, amplifi ers, headend tran slators, etc.

) to support hundreds of nodes at distances of u p to 2800 meters. Broadband cann ot be connected to base band via repeaters. Broa dband cable plant desig n and installation must be in accordance with IEEE 802.7 an d requ ires special expertise. GE F anuc recommends y ou contract professional s pecialists for these services. Consu lt your GE Fanuc sales represen tative or field service office for h elp in identifying local specialists. It is important to realize th at there is only on e interface to the network (only one Ethernet address and only on e IP address) provided by these Ethernet Interfaces. The two con nectors allow up to two Ethernet devices (hu bs, switches, other PLCs, PCs ) to be connected to the Eth ernet Interface. Operator Interface PLC PLC Pers ona l Computer It is also possib le to daisy-chain PLCs to gether without add itional components, but that s hould be done wi th great care. In designing a system, remember th at a loss of power or res et on any Ethernet Interface in a daisy chain will cause loss of communications with all devices downstream from the los t module. The second port, if left unused, can be used to plu g in a programm er over Eth ernet. Caution The two ports on the Ethernet Interface m ust not be connected, either directly or indirectly, to the same device. Th e hub or switch connections in an Ethernet netw ork must form a tree, otherwise duplication of packets may result. The Station Manager services on the Ethern et Interface include. An interactive set of commands for interrogating a nd controlling the statio n. ? Unrestricted access to obs erve internal statistics, an ex ception log, and configu ration paramet ers. ?
